Craig Stephen Roberts is charged with killing three Muslim students at the University of of North Carolina.

Authorities aren’t yet saying what Mr. Hicks‘ alleged motivation may have been. But he turned himself into police shortly after the shootings, CNN reported.

The three victims are Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23; Yusor Mohammad, 21; and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19.

What was that from the right that the only Christian atrocities occurred 1,000 years ago?

    • John Tarter February 11th, 2015 at 10:46 am

Too bad, reports are surfacing that he is a vehement atheist. His Facebook page says that he is “a man of the left” where he also frequently posts anti-religion musings. If this is true he cannot be linked to Christianity in any way.

      • Carla Akins February 11th, 2015 at 11:01 am

Doesn’t make him any less a bigot.
**I looked for these claims that he was a “vehement atheist” but all I found was that he had made numerous anti-religious comments in reference to Muslims, not all religions. Where did you find these claims?

      • arc99 February 11th, 2015 at 11:02 am

        I don’t f*cking care how he votes.

If events being reported are accurate, he is a murdering psychopath.

In any case, as I noted in my other post, the psychotic hatred which pervades your right wing America is on full display in the comments section of the Washington Times. so many posts. virtually none condemning cold blooded murder.

Nothing Christian at all in the majority of those posts at the right wing hate fest even from people claiming to be Christian.

      • William February 11th, 2015 at 11:16 am

…and here I was wondering just what sort of anal cavity would pop in and NOT condemn the actions of this psychotic murder. What sort of sphincter would try to politicize the brutal murder of three innocent kids. Congratulations.

        • John Tarter February 11th, 2015 at 12:26 pm

I totally and completely condemn the murders of these innocent people by this leftist atheist. Is that better? I was only responding to the poster who immediately brought up Christianity.

          • William February 11th, 2015 at 1:43 pm

Now that you’ve read concrete evidence of the suspects leftist persona, please post a link to that so we can all read it.

          • jstsmlbrlcnsrvtvguy February 11th, 2015 at 1:45 pm

William….I think you owe JT an apology.

          • burqa February 11th, 2015 at 2:49 pm

….and please include an explanation as to why his political leaning is pertinent.

          • William February 12th, 2015 at 12:15 am

The suspects facebooks likes also included (besides the Huffington post) ,Transformers. We most assume therefore that he is in league with Optimus prime

          • Candide Thirtythree February 12th, 2015 at 5:47 am

I am pretty sure he was the Ayn Rand right wing type atheist

      • burqa February 11th, 2015 at 11:32 am

Going on the presumption the story is accurate,
Someone murders three people in cold blood and we need to find out the murderer’s voting record and stance on religion before we form an opinion?
        Is that the thinking here?

        • tiredoftea February 11th, 2015 at 12:16 pm

Of course, only bad guys shoot guns. All good guys with guns are Repubs and christians.

          • burqa February 11th, 2015 at 1:44 pm

            Oh yeah, I forgot.
It brings to mind what I blurted out when being voir dir-ed for jury duty. I said the accused must be guilty because the cop arrested him. Why would the cop arrest someone who didn’t do the crime?
            That wouldn’t make sense.

          • jstsmlbrlcnsrvtvguy February 11th, 2015 at 1:46 pm

did it get you out of jury duty?

          • burqa February 11th, 2015 at 2:55 pm

I think so. Waving a noose may have helped some, too. Hard to tell for sure…

          • tiredoftea February 11th, 2015 at 1:48 pm

            Wonderful!!!

      • Dwendt44 February 11th, 2015 at 12:37 pm

Is he indeed an Atheist or his he one of those “I hate God” types? They aren’t real Atheists, they believe but have a chip on their shoulder for some inane reason. Society and/or culture tend to brand such a person Atheist, with little of any evidence.

      • cecilia February 11th, 2015 at 11:33 pm

what the hell is a “vehement atheist”?

        do you mean anti-theist?

if the nutjob has a bug up his a$$ about religion or a certain religion that’s an issue related to bigotry, not atheism.

        • Candide Thirtythree February 12th, 2015 at 5:45 am

They Ayn Rand type atheist I suppose.

          • cecilia February 12th, 2015 at 10:05 am

            ah, a nutter, then

  2. NW10 February 11th, 2015 at 10:41 am

And had those three Muslims been armed, they’d be accused of being in cahoots with ISIS!

    • tiredoftea February 11th, 2015 at 12:15 pm

You mean they wold not be embraced by the right as fine examples of “murcan’s protecting themselves with firearms? I’m surprised!

  3. arc99 February 11th, 2015 at 10:46 am

The Disqus comments on the main article on the Washington Times contain some of the ugliest bigotry one could imagine.

Conservatves, most of you claim not to be bigots. All I can say is that there is ample evidence that most of you are.

This is the direct link to the article about the shooting. The comments are the face of conservatism in 21st century America. Why should any reasonable person not use the same logic most of you use about Muslims? If a few of you are ignorant bigots, why is it not fair to assume that most of you are?

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/feb/11/craig-stephen-hicks-46-arrested-in-shooting-death-/

    • Suzanne McFly February 11th, 2015 at 10:56 am

Imagine, this is the same group who claims Muslims do not come out against the extremists that claim the same religion. When the rwnj’s speak, how come no one on the right stands up to speak against the extremist message from their side?

      • burqa February 11th, 2015 at 11:41 am

        I can understand why.
They don’t like to criticize one of their own and will overlook their bigotry. But if it is someone on the Left displaying the same stereotypes and bigotry, they will scream long and loud.
Same thing happens on the Left.
We see it right here in Liberaland, the same bigotry and stereotypes are let slide and the same excuses are made that the Right uses to excuse the bigotry on their side. The same blindness that afflicts the Right and prevents them from criticizing the extremists on their side can be found on the Left. Even with many examples in front of them, they just don’t see it unless the target is different and the bigot is on the other side of the political spectrum.

We would make progress if both the Left and Right were consistent and applied the same standard, but here in Liberaland it’s slow going….

        • Candide Thirtythree February 12th, 2015 at 5:44 am

Sorry, but I have never seen ANYTHING approaching the vileness that was displayed on the WT comment section here on Liberal land.

I don’t think anyone else here has either.

      • Bunya February 11th, 2015 at 1:48 pm

Read some of the hate-filled rhetoric listed in arc99’s post. Truly disgusting. Nothing anybody says here come close to that.

        • Candide Thirtythree February 12th, 2015 at 5:42 am

I scuttled out of there pretty quick, that comment section was toxic, full of weapon’s grade stupid ad someone here once said!

    • tiredoftea February 11th, 2015 at 12:09 pm

WaTimes is rapidly becoming the Fraud Spews of print. I wonder when Murdoch will buy it. Maybe he”ll add a feature like his British paper does and have topless women in it.

      • Dwendt44 February 11th, 2015 at 12:29 pm

Isn’t Wapo owned by the Moonies?

        • arc99 February 11th, 2015 at 12:31 pm

Washington Times is or at least was owned by the Moonie organization.

But WaPo is the slang term for the Washington Post of Watergate and Ben Bradlee fame. The Post was the newspaper of my childhood growing up in DC and is definitely not the same publication as the Washington Times.

        • burqa February 11th, 2015 at 1:40 pm

          No.
The Washington Post is now owned by this Bezos guy. He bought it from the Grahams.
The Washington Times is owned by the Moonies

    • Candide Thirtythree February 12th, 2015 at 5:20 am

I was coming to make the same comment, totally vile comments

    • Boehner-Monkey February 12th, 2015 at 7:27 pm

A liberal about 2,000 years ago referred to those types of bigots as “whitened sepulchres.” Clean on the outside, but inside full of corruption.

  4. tiredoftea February 11th, 2015 at 12:20 pm

Something about a parking dispute?? Really, there are 2A remedies for parking now? The NRA should be proud of the progress its made so we all can shoot our way into our preferred parking spaces.

    • eyelashviper February 11th, 2015 at 12:50 pm

Just imagine if snow had been involved, and shoveling…there would have been a neighborhood wipe out.

      • tiredoftea February 11th, 2015 at 1:20 pm

Presumably, he would have been too tired to raise his freedumb pointer to shoot anyone!

    • Bunya February 11th, 2015 at 1:52 pm

It’s a good thing he had his killing device handy and ready to use at a moment’s notice. If he didn’t, he may have had a chance to cool down and consider the consequences.

  5. jstsmlbrlcnsrvtvguy February 11th, 2015 at 1:39 pm

As far as I know, there is absolutely no connection between this Craig Roberts, and Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal…

    • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker February 11th, 2015 at 8:16 pm

      • rg9rts February 12th, 2015 at 1:32 am

Long term feud ,,,the guy is a neighborhood bully, which to me at lest, makes him a real sicko..

  7. ExPFCWintergreen February 11th, 2015 at 6:38 pm

Thank goodness for the Second Amendment! How else could this fine American have stood-his-ground and protected his god-given right to …. um … y’know. Park.

    • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker February 11th, 2015 at 8:19 pm

This murder of three individuals is not about a parking spot.
This is a hate crime by a racist, bigoted hatefilled asshole and the wingnuts have already started a support page for what they see as their American patriot.

  8. KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker February 11th, 2015 at 9:13 pm

Another white bigot with a gun thinking he can just kill brown people with impunity.
Listen…..if this were three white college students murdered by a Muslim in North Carolina, it would be world news and outrage for 24/7 for months.
Here’s a picture of the young victims of this hating, gun hugging, bigoted murderer.
