[su_right_ad]Of course, prominent Islam-basher Pamela Geller is involved.

Geller is planning a “Draw the Prophet” event in Garland, Texas in the same location as a Muslim group held a “Stand with the Prophet” conference in January. The First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest will be hosted by the Curtis Caldwell Center, which is owned and operated by the Garland Independent School District.

Geller’s event comes on the wake of the Islamic terrorist attack on the French magazineCharlie Hebdo in January. Following the attack, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) scheduled the “Stand with the Prophet” conference at the public school district’s conference center. Geller, the President of the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), scheduled a protest outside the event that was attended by approximately 2,000 people…

Geller is also listed as an “Extremist” on the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) website. The SPLC says she is the “anti-Muslim movement’s most visible and flamboyant figurehead. She’s relentlessly shrill and coarse in her broad-based denunciations of Islam.” The organization also lists AFDI as an anti-Muslim hate group.

How would he feel if someone invited people to draw derogatory pictures of Jebus? Would it still be funny? I remember the outcry when Life of Brian came out.

    • Um Cara February 13th, 2015 at 2:31 pm

While I certainly do not support this idiocy (just like I don’t support all the Christian bashing that regularly occurs on this site) – pop culture is chock full o Jesus (which is who I assume you were referring to, I make typos all the time myself) jokes.

South Park, for example, regularly features goofy depictions of Jesus but Comedy Central has wimped out on Muhammad stuff. Folks are scared of crazy (meaning specific, not all) Muslims in a way they are not scared of crazy (meaning specific, not all) Christians.

      • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2015 at 2:54 pm

No, it wasn’t a typo. But I agree with you about the Muslim/Christian comparison. Christians complain, but they don’t react violently the way Muslims do to any depiction of the prophet. I don’t feel compelled to respect any particular religion any more than any other, and I don’t understand why Muslims think they are justified in bombing and killing non-believers who ridicule Islam.

        • Um Cara February 13th, 2015 at 3:16 pm

I don’t feel compelled to respect any particular religion any more than any other,

The world would be a far better place if folks w/ all the various supernatural belief systems (including those without one) could show each other great respect by default & just call out the creeps instead. So many folks seem incapable of it though, which is weird – because most believers of whatever & non believers I know are good people.

I guess it’s another version of the Ford/Chevy battle. ‘Your stupid if you think Muhhamed has the special sauce’ ‘Your stupiderist if you think Jesus is God’ ‘Your both more stupider because you believe in fairy tales’

Hey, you’re all acting pretty stupid, yo.

          • Apocalypse February 13th, 2015 at 3:56 pm

It only becomes a problem they try to base laws and policies on supernatural belief systems instead of reason and science.

        • Bunya February 13th, 2015 at 8:17 pm

These are Muslim extremists who do these type of things, not practicing Muslims. The same way Christian extremists bomb clinics and kill doctors. It really has nothing to do with religious beliefs and more to do with crazies using religion as an excuse to commit violent acts.

xtian bashing or anger at the attempts at theocratic laws regulating sex, medical decisions and equality, be honest

        • Um Cara February 13th, 2015 at 4:31 pm

Xtian bashing ≠ being opposed to various theocratic laws, we agree.

I suspect we disagree on the success some individuals have in expressing their disagreement w/ various theocratic laws w/o bashing Xtians in the process.

          • tracey marie February 13th, 2015 at 4:35 pm

I bash xtians when they claim their beliefs trump the constituion and try to pass theocratic laws. You bet I trash them when they tell me and other women what I may do with my body. You bet I trash them when they claim that marriage equality is wrong because of their bible beliefs. You bet I trash them when theocratic babble is used in place of Sciemnce to the detriment of the country. Yes I do bash them and I will continue to bash them until they shut up and acknowledge their belief stops at my nose.

          • Um Cara February 13th, 2015 at 4:43 pm

You bet I trash them when…

Excellent! It’s hard to find agreement sometimes. We agree that you are trashy and regularly bash Christians.

Excellent, then we agree you are an arrogant pr*ck

you are a pr*ck and an egomanical one at that. I usually ignore your trolling, I will from now on. You need to get a life outside of the great big bubble head of yours

wouldn’t it be nice if asll the xians and muslims and animists and spiritualist all went far away, did their dance in private and then returned to society in a neutral state of mind?

      • Candide Thirtythree February 14th, 2015 at 4:47 am

You do know that if they go unchallenged they just get bolder and bolder until they start committing atrocities don’t you?

It has happened over and over and over throughout history and you know what they say about people who refuse to learn from history don’t you?

They have to be kept in check every minute of every day because they are dangerous and bashing them is one way of keeping them in check.

        • Um Cara February 14th, 2015 at 9:09 am

I do know bigots always have some way of justifying their bigotry in their twisted little heads, yes. Obviously.

It has happened over and over and over throughout history and you know
what they say about people who refuse to learn from history don’t you?

Exactly. Bigots keep on being bigots. Bigotry has it’s base in tribalism, which was a handy evolutionary adaptation in its day, but modern times – not so much.

Evolve past your inner cave-man, I know you can! You may still feel your bigoted feelings, but you don’t have to ACT on your bigotry. You can do it! Yes You Can!

          • Candide Thirtythree February 14th, 2015 at 8:00 pm

So we are supposed to let bigots form groups and go on killing sprees and commit genocide for their god and never raise a finger to stop them?

I guess you are going to join them in their atrocities too? Because anyone who objects to being killed for your god must be a bigot… right?

          • Um Cara February 14th, 2015 at 9:33 pm

I guess you are going to join them in their atrocities too? Because anyone who objects to being killed for your god must be a bigot… right?

Meh, when the Elder Gods rise and eat us all they aren’t going to care about who objects to what, and they don’t need my help.

Pamela Geller one of the “leading” (if that’s the right word) members of the Ultra-Likudnik Ultra-Right Greater Israel Über Alles Fascist wing of American Judaism.

      • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2015 at 3:25 pm

          IT would be more acceptable.

It has been done many times.
The difference that one of the religions kills you for insulting their religion, the other doesn’t.
I don’t remember anyone being killed over “Life of Brian”

      • tracey marie February 13th, 2015 at 4:22 pm

why do they chose to behave as angry bigots?

        • Hirightnow February 13th, 2015 at 5:46 pm

No, just doctor’s helping women with their personal concerns.

        • amongoose February 13th, 2015 at 10:29 pm

I think there might be a little difference in number of occurrences.
They kill more per day than abortion bombers ever have.

          • tiredoftea February 13th, 2015 at 10:57 pm

Right, because the horror of a few dead doctors killed by christian fanatics here is so much less than larger numbers elsewhere.

          • whatthe46 February 13th, 2015 at 11:01 pm

so, less means not that big of a deal?

          • amongoose February 14th, 2015 at 12:54 pm

No. less means you need to pay a little more attention to the bigger problem.
When it happens here we prosecute the perps, there they cheer the perps.

          • whatthe46 February 13th, 2015 at 11:07 pm

I am acquainted with several and not one of them shares Geller’s hateful views about Muslims or anyone else for that matter.

Wonder if these people know how much they look like those they always professed to hate?

But the winner has to be Debbie Schlussel, , “Kayla Mueller: Dead ISIS Hostage Was Jew-Hating, Anti-Israel Bitch.” She opened with the following line:

“Mueller was a Jew-hating, anti-Israel piece of crap who worked with HAMAS and helped Palestinians harass Israeli soldiers and block them from doing their job of keeping Islamic terrorists out of Israel.”

Another great American who claims to be a better patriot than the rest of us.

    • Um Cara February 13th, 2015 at 3:24 pm

Wonder if these people know how much they look like those they always professed to hate?

It sure doesn’t seem like it. Whether it’s Muslims hating on non Christians, or Christians hating on non Muslims, or Atheists hating on believers – it’s all pretty ugly and unnecessary. A little self reflection all around would sure make the world a better place.

  4. tracey marie February 13th, 2015 at 4:21 pm

Why behave as petulant and hateful little brats?

    • Hirightnow February 13th, 2015 at 5:45 pm

geller knows nothing of Charlie – she is no better than the gun freaks who committed the crime in Paris and I am sure she will be very upset when the people she is inciting become incited. People like geller tend to be worse than the shooters since she has no moral stand – just ugliness.
