Paul never completed undergraduate work but was, nevertheless, accepted at Duke to study medicine. His staff says that, in effect, is a biology degree. Paul also said he has an English degree, however, which is not covered in Medical school.

“In the jocular bantering with the host, Dr. Rand Paul mentioned ‘degree,’ but anyone who has read Dr. Paul’s official biography on his Web site can see that he was accepted early into one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country — Duke University School of Medicine,” said Brian Darling, Paul’s senior communications director. “Dr. Paul finished the requirements for medical school in two and one half years. While in college, Dr. Paul did study biology and English. He has no college degree and has a medical degree.”[su_center_ad]

…Paul studied biology (and English) at Baylor, but he didn’t earn a degree. There’s no excuse for resume-inflation, even when it’s jocular. We can’t quite say this is worthy of Four Pinocchios, but the senator should be more careful in the future.

The republicans don’t have a monopoly on lying. It’s pretty much standard for any politician.

      • rg9rts February 15th, 2015 at 11:54 am

At least they could try to make it more believable

I studied biology and English, back in high school…
Does that mean I can embellish my credentials and claim I have a degree?..

    • Larry Schmitt February 15th, 2015 at 11:49 am

I’ve done enough reading that I’ve decided to give myself a doctorate in thinkology. I’m a ThD.

Exactly what kind of medical degree fits into that much effort?

No one else but the idiot offspring of rich and powerful people could get away without having any degree and still be accepted into medical school. I bet they don’t even have to take the SATs as long as they are a ‘Legacy Entrant’ to prestigious schools.

His daddy bought him a medical degree because he could barely get out of high school.

With all the republican cuts to higher education, as much as 60% of the entries in some private colleges are ‘legacy’ entries, that means daddy paid the school to take their intellectually deficient offspring, no prior education required. They do not even do their work once they get there, daddy pays impoverished, better qualified students to do all of their work for them. When I was in college I was asked by a professor to do it for student athletes, I refused to do it but knew people who did.

I asked how they got around taking the tests since there were proctors at every exam, they said they were given the tests at a different time from the rest of the class so they didn’t know how that worked, but we could all guess. I am sure it works the same way for ‘Legacy entrants’ in schools like Harvard and Yale and Duke.

It is the same way Bush and Romney got into college and no doubt how they got out too.

Rand Paul is not a doctor, he could not even pass his boards so he had to invent a fake board to give him a fake license just so he could open an office.
