The alleged firefighter, if he truly is one, isn’t worthy of the uniform. The Islamic center fire is suspicious.

[su_thin_right_skyscraper_ad]…alleged volunteer firefighter Dustin Herron sent out the now-controversial tweet and prompted Twitter users to speak out against the man’s hatetful post.

According to a representative for the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Herron was never affiliated with the department as he claimed on social media.

“There have been recent post on social media from someone stating they are a member of our Fire Department and have posted hate messages against the Islamic Community,” the rep’s statement read. “Please know that this person, Dustin Herron, is not a member of the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Dept; nor has he ever been a member of our fire department. We are in the process of trying to track down Mr. Herron regarding the comments he made.

And MSM continues to ignore this story WTF?

    • Ronald L February 16th, 2015 at 11:30 am

The burning of the mosque, if arson, is a real story. It should be a nationwide story since anti-Muslim backlash affects us all.

This jerk’s tweet is almost surely not newsworthy.

Thank you. If we’re going to be equal in our treatment of random tweets from goofs, there’s only around 500 million tweets per day sent out…

But, it’s a holiday, and some sites need the click-bait on Memeorandum.

      • whatthe46 February 16th, 2015 at 3:30 pm

“…if arson is the real story.” the fact that it happened should result in coverage. finding out the exact details of its cause is what updates are about.

no different from the fertilizer plant that exploded near waco tx.
I believe they let that burn to the ground also

    • mea_mark February 16th, 2015 at 10:58 am

It was totally blown to bits. They didn’t have any options.

I read there were still people who may have sought shelter before the blast but no sense in discussing it.
a cheap cremation courtesy of rick perry’s lack of regulation

I don’t know about the response to the blast.

The bigger shame is Texas’ lack of regulation, leading to the blast.

          • rg9rts February 16th, 2015 at 1:26 pm

That was Perry’s draw to business to move to Texas… business friendly no regulation Texas.

          • fahvel February 17th, 2015 at 3:09 am

was perry the gov at the time of waco?

I vote that we shut down the Internet. Before the Internet, a-holes like his guy had an audience of his other a-hole friend. But, thanks to the Internet, he now has an audience of millions.

But, short of shutting down the Internet, we’ve got to get smarter about dealing with these type of guys. Much of what people get in a tizzy about on the Internet isn’t even real.

I lived for a long time in Muslim-majority countries and even in some places thick with terrorists.

Long ago, I concluded that we can’t kill our way out of Muslim extremism. War zones just breed more terrorists. We need more places that “breed” peaceful Muslims.

The only solution to extremism is for millions of tolerant, good-willed Muslims to win the argument by modelling what it is like to be a devout Muslim living peacefully with Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc.

America can be that place — but only if we treat our fellow Muslims well.

    • cecilia February 16th, 2015 at 2:27 pm

agreed..the best path to peace is getting everyone prosperous

      • fahvel February 17th, 2015 at 3:07 am

blsht – prosperity and its ancillary crap is what generates this kind of separation from any kind of reality which must contain kindness.

        • cecilia February 17th, 2015 at 10:06 am

I don’t think you understand what I mean by “prosperous”.

I’m NOT taking about being rich. Being prosperous is not about money, showing off, being distracted by nonsense.

I consider myself prosperous and I’ve never owned a car or house. I’ve never been rich. I’ve often been unable to buy things others would consider necessary.

No, I’m prosperous because I had an education and choose what I wanted for my career and was able to exercise my talents. I’ve also had access to toilets and clean water. That may sound silly, but try going without clean water and see how important it is.

I know EXACTLY what matters in life. Family, friends, work and learning everyday. And being reasonably free of criminals. And, yes, I grew up in New York and never felt in danger.

If everyone on this planet had what I have had in my life, yes, we would all be very very happy

      Very nice and very true

    • fahvel February 17th, 2015 at 3:06 am

how the hell can the usa be that place – it itself is filled with racist bigots of all shapes and sizes – this is not about muslim terror – it is about all people who rain terror on others.

  5. Jus'speakin'th'truth February 16th, 2015 at 1:19 pm

Really? You’re all now reduced to culling random tweets? From some goof with all of 53 followers? REALLY?

Oh, well… sic ’em, boys! Let the lynching begin! Make yourselves feel superior today!

    • whatthe46 February 16th, 2015 at 3:32 pm

if it had been a “christian” church and its cause was arson, and someone tweeted this same message and was muslim, you’d be singing a different tune. get over yourself.

As he put the gas can in his trunk!

    • Candide Thirtythree February 16th, 2015 at 10:41 pm

Yep, In psychology class we studied a phenomenon of arsonists becoming firefighters or pretending to be fire fighters just so they could set fires and have an excuse for hanging around to watch them burn.
