A man was hurt with “extensive burns” after lighting himself on fire inside the bathroom of a Southern California Starbucks on Tuesday morning, officials said.

Los Angeles fire officials said they “arrived to find a fire out in a coffee shop” in the 15300 block of Sherman Way in Van Nuys before 8:20 a.m.[su_csky_ad]

    The symbolism in this man’s act is palpable. A burnt offering of himself on the corporate alter of blind consumerism. I’m not sure whether to lament for the man or commend his resolve.

    The comments on the KNBC website are completely heartless. Evidently a lot of people think this is funny. I’m glad there are no similar comments here.

      People are cultivating their callous nature. Everyone thinks themselves to be a comedian…especially when the pain is applied elsewhere than them.

    maybe he was making meth in a bottle, someone did say they heard an explosion.

    They call it shake and bake and a number of people have blow up in bathrooms.
