Giuliani: I’m Not Racist Because Obama’s Mother Was White
[su_right_ad]I wonder if this means that, if both of the president’s parents were black, the former New York mayor would, then, be racist. The comment in question was Giuliani’s statement, “He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up, through love of this country.”
Critics suggested that Mr. Giuliani’s description of Mr. Obama’s upbringing reflected a prejudiced view that Mr. Obama was different from other Americans.
In an interview with The New York Times, Mr. Giuliani dismissed the criticism and said he was describing the worldview that had shaped Mr. Obama’s upbringing.
“Some people thought it was racist — I thought that was a joke, since he was brought up by a white mother, a white grandfather, went to white schools, and most of this he learned from white people,” Mr. Giuliani said in the interview. “This isn’t racism. This is socialism or possibly anti-colonialism.”
Anti-colonialism: So Obama is being accused of not wanting to take over other countries.

so because he has a white mother he’s not a racist, he’s only racist against the other 1/2. again, not owning who you really are? my son is bi-racial (i’m black) and has spent more time with his fathers family than mine, how would he describe my son? i found nothing jokingly about his comment. own it you rat ba&tard. you are a racist. i’m surprised he didn’t bring up one drop.

Giuliani is totally ignorant of American society and of history. America itself was created in opposition to the system of British colonialism. What is wrong with being anti-colonialist? Nothing. It is obvious that the President loves America via his own statements on how he feels about America. Rudy Giuliani is issuing a distraction when we should be focused on real issues like living wages, poverty, education, the problem of police brutality, the environment, etc. Also, the President is nowhere near a socialist. Rudy clearly doesn’t know what a socialist is. His criterion for racism is ludicrous. Rudy is a neo-conservative with extreme views. It is as simple as that.
