13-Year Old Arrested For Threatening To Shoot Up School
[su_center_ad]The Texas child sent a friend a shirtless picture of himself holding what looks like an AR-15 rifle, as Anomaly reports.
[su_thin_right_skyscraper_ad]Using social media, the boy allegedly made a threat against other students.
Lt. Jeff Caponera with the Anna Police Department told News 8 Friday that the 8th grader sent a message to a friend via Snapchat, telling him “Don’t go to school tomorrow because I have something big planned.”
The friend asked, “Are you for real?”
In response, the student sent him a shirtless picture of himself holding a weapon that appeared to be an AR-15 rifle.
He also sent that same picture to two more friends, Caponera said.
WFAA reports that police worked with the school district in order to find out where the student lived, and his father allowed them to search the home. When police searched the home, they found an airsoft gun which was a replica of an AR-15 and matched the gun in the picture.
The teen said after his arrest that he isn’t crazy and would not “shoot up the school,” claiming that the message was sent as a joke. Police said he is now awaiting a hearing on a Class B Misdemeanor.
