Why do these nutjobs always have to take others out? Look, if you want to enhance the gene pool by doing yourself in, by all means — knock yourself out. But don’t punish other people for your insanity.

I like your blunt observations, very succinct.

So Daddy killed his two younger Daughters while the Wife and oldest Daughter were not in the home.
Wonder what had been going on in the household prior to the killing and were the two Daughters possibly going to say something?
Most males, when they take out their family, are doing so because of financial issues or divorce. In the case of financial, they’ll take out everyone including themselves because they are so selfish they think no one can make it financially w/o them. In the case of divorce, they’ll either take out the children or the (ex)Wife because of the selfish, if I can’t have you, no one can mantra.
But if he just takes out two of his Daughters and himself while the other half of the family is out of the house, it makes you think something more was going on inside that house.
Either way, very sad for the two Daughters and the remaining family members. They didn’t deserve any of this.

My thinking exactly. Something very well could have been going on- and odds are we will never know.

Retired cop huh? You would think he would be one of the NRA’s “good guys’ with a gun, guess not. It’s getting hard to tell them apart.

the stress of law enforcement coupled with the duties of a domestic household are more than most people could endure on a temporary duty, much less full time career. Having their firearms properly stored when off duty gives them more of a chance to think through stressful issues (much like Granpa Will @ LL) instead of reacting on impulse to a seeming threatening situation.
17 is a very young age to die
      13 even more so.

There’s probably more to this story.
