Republican Idaho Lawmaker Wants To Know If Woman Can Swallow Camera For Gynecological Exam
At issue is the ability of doctors to conduct remote examinations.
The question Monday from Republican Rep. Vito Barbieri came as the House State Affairs Committee heard nearly three hours of testimony on a bill that would ban doctors from prescribing abortion-inducing medication through telemedicine.
Dr. Julie Madsen was testifying in opposition to the bill when Barbieri asked the question. Madsen replied that would be impossible because swallowed pills do not end up in the vagina.

I heard a discussion on the radio where they were downplaying the importance of Scott Walker’s refusal to answer whether or not he believes in evolution. This is yet another example of exactly why that is important. There are so many of these people that are basing their decisions on superstition and falsehoods/ignorance. I could list issue after issue where these republicans come to a conclusion that just is not based in fact and/or science.
When you need to know how many cubits it takes to make an ark, or what would make a burning bush talk, or how the reaper card effects the waning of Jupiter in the 7th house, go ahead and consult your mythical guide. But when faced with questions of importance, consult the experts in those areas.

I can’t believe that someone who sits in a position of power doesn’t have a basic grasp of the human anatomy. He has just proven his inability to govern, due to his lack of understanding of the distinction between the digestive and reproductive systems. He is not qualified to take part in those particular proceedings and should recuse himself.
…In my own humble opinion, of course.
