The vehemence with which creationists deny evolution is often times startling. Part of it is an unwillingness to admit when they’re wrong, sure, but I often wonder how one gets suckered into that ideology to begin with. It’s not exactly the most uplifting ideology: you’re basically a slave to an incompetent designer who couldn’t be bothered…

Why is Birther Ben’s birth certificate unavailable? Top 10: Pieces of evidence that Ben Carson is an extraterrestrial! http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn9943-top-10-controversial-pieces-of-evidence-for-extraterrestrial-life.html#.VPXDRPnF8iU

The “theory” of evolution is propaganda? So is “germ theory”? Real believers know that God will protect you from germs. No need for sterile surgical fields…right Dr. Dufus? He’s a pick and choose scientist just like so many Christians are pick and choose believers who ignore the religious teachings that don’t meet current proven fact and choose to believe the ones that reinforce their personal biases.

Somebody help me out, here. A neurosurgeon, a physician, which is a type of science, thinks scientific ideas are a type of “propaganda?” Really? How is that possible? All medicine is a part of science. This man wouldn’t operate on my brain if my life depended on it. He just proclaimed his line of work “propaganda.”

just curious – would you want this character performing neurosugery in your head? Seems like he worked on his own for a while and voila, a putain idiot.

It’s only those sciences that he doesn’t like that are propaganda. Since there is no evidence at all the ‘creationism’ is true, I wonder just what standards he uses for his cherry picking of the various sciences.

Chucky let him get away with this nonsense? Yet more proof that he’s not up to the job.

I am so sick of this type of interviewing with no challenge made to their statements. Its this horrible ‘balance’ that modern corporate media tries to achieve that says all ideas stated by interviewees are equal. I had a logic class in community college 20+ years ago and I can still point out when one of these yahoos is arguing from ignorance. But i guess that’s just my liberal bias talking.

I guess its sort of off topic, but where is Comedy Central going to find someone to replace Jon Stewart who actually knows how to interview people? There are probably a number of people who can do the satirical commentary well enough. But Jon Stewart has a particular talent for questioning people’s statements in a friendly manner but will not let them get aways with this kind of BS.

I suppose that we are expecting too much from the “liberal mainstream media”! There’s only a difference of kind between what Chucky and his buddies do and the fringe right. It’s what makes them wholly irrelevant, and possibly dangerous, to our democracy
