[su_right_ad]Sessions has earned himself four Pinocchios for saying:

“Every day, all along border states, maybe other places, there are murders by people who have been arrested coming into this country, who have been released by the Obama administration, I believe in violation of the law, who are murdering Americans all over our cities. We hold the Democrat Party and the president personally accountable for this action.”

It’s just not true.

There are on average 44 murders a day in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Assuming murders by illegal immigrants were prorated as a percentage of the U.S. population, it is not unreasonable to assume one to two murders a day are committed by illegal immigrants.

But that’s just a straight-line calculation — and Sessions was not talking about the 11 million or so illegal immigrants, but about the 130,000, including 30,000 with previous criminal records, that the Obama administration released in the 2014 fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30…

Sessions failed to provide any convincing evidence to show that illegal immigrants released by the Obama administration are committing a murder a day. He earns Four Pinocchios.

One can debate the merits of the administration’s immigration policies without resorting to nonsense facts. Sessions is a committee chairman, and he should know better.

Again and again, republicans make unsubstantiated statements against the president, and even when they are proven to have lied, they pay no penalty. One reason is that the people who vote for these liars don’t read the Washington Post, or probably any newspaper. They watch Fox, and believe everything they are told.

    • greenfloyd March 5th, 2015 at 11:14 pm

Or, get paid to believe… or in some places foreced to believe or else! Boris Nimtsov, rip.

    • Dwendt44 March 6th, 2015 at 12:43 am

True that. Watch the O’Reilly scandal; caught lying time after time over the years and all the FakeNews corp says is “Look at his ratings”, as if that’s an excuse.

Now days the whole TP/GOP are the party of Four Pinocchio’s.

  3. arc99 March 5th, 2015 at 7:25 pm

These right wing politicians don’t even pretend anymore.

They will propagate the most outrageous lies about the President of the United States, confident that their low-information base will believe every dishonest word and summarily dismiss documented facts revealing the lie as “liberal media bias”.

They constantly lie about the first black President of the United States and in the next breath wonder why the Democratic party receives 90%+ of the black vote. Can Republicans really be that stupid as to not be able to compute 4 from 2+2?

the other 10% had labotomy’s by carson.

      • nola878 March 5th, 2015 at 7:36 pm

On the whole, I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a prefrontal lobotomy.

        • greenfloyd March 5th, 2015 at 11:10 pm

Of course a lobotomy would save your liver…:)

    • nola878 March 5th, 2015 at 7:34 pm

      “…compute 4 from 2+2?”

They convince their base every day that 2+2=5 without having to resort to Room 101.

O’Brien is pea green with envy.

I have to associate with some of these low-info people and they simply believe everything they are fed, without question. I was recently told that the Jordanian King personally led the airstrike against ISIS, personally, flying in a jet fighter personally. Just the other day I was told, again with great sincerity and with a straight face, that the current cold weather in the east was really caused by, wait for it…sunspot activity. What can we do about this, unfortunately large, segment of the population? Corporate interests are actively supporting the dumbing of America as are the extremist religious types that have so much sway in the Republican Party. We really need to get the intelligent, educated population to get off their asses and vote. otherwise the regimented right wingers will march, in lockstep, to the poles and vote in more ignorant and dangerous people.

oh, the GOP base eats it up. It’s like manna from their local STP (sewage treatment plant), but in the raw.

Even though it’s of little to no consequence in the real world, Mr. Sessions and his fellow members of the Dead Horse Society are metaphorically correct. Yet, Obama is not alone as the same can be said about every President since… I don’t know, but a long time ago.

Of course none of this is really about the now mangled corpse of “Immigration,” or the on-gong Drug War refugee crisis along our southern border. But Sessions just can’t resist the Gopperino classic cheap shot. One not heard ’round the world, but played well on Fox for a couple hours.

Perhaps somebody should send Mr. Sessions a pinata he can hit with his Dead Horse Stick, little brown people will come tumbling out.

Hey Pete, tell us something we don’t know like how many babies Obama ate for breakfast or how many old church ladies Michelle shoved into traffic yesterday. If they claim he’s liberating murderers today imagine what they’ll be claiming as 2016 gets closer.
