[su_right_ad]You’d think by now he would have consumed it and analyzed it.

According to CNN’s Sarah Sidner, Jackson had been barred from talking to the press after the report was released, and when she tracked him down, discovered why…

it’s clear that he’s still not very good at talking to press:

SIDNER: Explain. Do you think the department has a race problem? Do they have a problem? And are you going to fix it? What are you going to do about it?

JACKSON: I need to have time to really analyze the report so I can comment on it.

SIDNER: Why do you need time to analyze the report? you should have known what was going on in your department, correct?

In fact, he did know, and the CNN report cites emails in which he agrees to boost the city’s revenue via increasing arrests and issuing more tickets. In addition, a press conference held earlier this week by Mayor James Knowles acknowledged many of the findings and, while they didn’t address the systemic racism in the police department, admitted many of their faults and vowed to take action.

I don’t understand why he’s still the chief.

    • Carla Akins March 6th, 2015 at 6:15 pm

I don’t either, he should have been fired the day he leaked the shoplifting story. This man is directly responsible for damage done in the days after Brown’s shooting. Not to mention everything leading up to the shooting.

      • whatthe46 March 6th, 2015 at 7:36 pm

he needs to get fired. otherwise, if he chooses to resign, won’t he still get his pension?

        • nola878 March 6th, 2015 at 8:06 pm

Why, of course he will! It’s un American to mess with someone’s pension. If you’re a cop admired by the RW, that is.

        • Carla Akins March 6th, 2015 at 8:14 pm

If he hasn’t been fired by now, it’s not going to happen. Hopefully, they will at least force him out. Do you watch the Nightly Show? A gal on his roundtable panel made a great comment on this last night. I’ll see if I can find it.

My boss gave up tv a couple of years ago – willingly! I am a true child of my generation, I live in front of it and sometimes I forget that not everybody else does. 🙂

          • whatthe46 March 6th, 2015 at 11:03 pm

thanks for that link. that was great to watch. so much truth in that segment. but some people will not dare to listen. say, you think fox will, you know want to show that side of the truth? wishful thinking on my part huh? anyway, that was funny and honest.

NO, no they don’t. My brother is a racist, teabagging idiot. He’s already populated my Facebook page with their version of the “truth”. How The President and Holder are only looking out for the brothers and of course if blacks wouldn’t commit crimes, blah, blah. When I asked if they knew if a single white person that had ever been arrested for “manner of walking” I was told that was just a myth. So, no, they are in complete denial. My only hope is that those not so firmly entrenched will see the exchange, and it will make them think – slowly changing their minds. Some will never be reached. All I can do, we can do, is continue to speak up and hopefully one day soon there will be less of them.

“So, no, they are in complete denial.” heart breaking. that’s all i got.

i knew someone was going to post that comment, which is why i’m glad i read through them first.

They need to get together with the Police Union and HR to make sure no contracts with the Police Union will be violated…so they are crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s before he is “fired” or should I say….retires. He will be living it up on his fat pension. I wonder where all the money that was illegally raised (tickets/fines) went to…?! That’s a lot of money that was generated through all those tickets….and a lot of promotions giving out to cops who gave the most tickets.

It will be interesting to see what occurs. Hopefully the Mayor and Governor will do the appropriate thing and not make things worse.

And who’s supposed to be surprised that this idiot says he’s got to “analyze” what he already knew would be in the report…he’ll retire whenever he wants.

    • CHOCOL8MILK March 6th, 2015 at 11:07 pm

He’ll get his fat pension, and live it up.

And a kid had to die to expose the crookedest town in recent memory…

    • whatthe46 March 7th, 2015 at 2:05 pm

they need to clean house, otherwise he would have died in vain.

      • rg9rts March 7th, 2015 at 2:23 pm

DOJ promised they would if they didn’t do it themselves

        • whatthe46 March 7th, 2015 at 2:37 pm

i wouldn’t let them do anything themselves, i don’t have any faith in them at all to do the right thing.

I think what he meant with analyze is that he is still working out how to get away from this all with any excuses he can make. I sure hope he and his crooked, racist PD now reached the dead end.

Good luck on your new job chief.

  9. bmhay1 March 7th, 2015 at 9:05 pm

Chief Jackson caused problems from the very beginning, including putting the partial video out of Mike Brown in the store and announcing a “Strong Arm Robbery” going on. After the murder of Mike Brown, Chief Jackson stated he spoke with Off Wilson and Off Wilson was NOT aware of the “Strong Arm Robbery” that took place moments before he killed Mike Brown, however, Off Wilson in his testimony stated he WAS aware of it. Off Wilson did have plenty of time to concoct his story which he did after they canvased the town even confiscating cell phones that contained evidence. Police are so very seldom punished for anything, but get rid of Chief Jackson, if he does not run away first.
