Conservative Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberly Strassel on Sunday asserted that President Barack Obama had made a mistake by talking about voter ID during his speech in Selma over the weekend. “Right now, in 2015, fifty years after Selma, there are laws across this country designed to make it harder for people to vote,” the president…

Obviously it is not surprising that some right wing gasbag had to find fault with the President’s speech in Selma. This is how right wing gasbags earn their paychecks. The President must always be criticized whether he is making a video telling children to work hard and stay in school, or if he is speaking at the 50th anniversary of one of the seminal events defining race relations in our country. Right wing gasbags can never simply say, well done Mr. President. OK, so fine and dandy, I know the ground rules in that regard.

However in this particular instance, I am somewhat surprised by the breathtaking cluelessness of this particular gasbag as she says not a word about the conservative efforts to dismantle the Voting Rights Act which was passed by Congress and signed by LBJ as a direct result of the Selma march.

I am not even going to bother scrolling back up to see the name of this woman. She is not worthy my time. I will only say that Ms. whomever the hell you are, conservatives are busily working to ruin the signature achievement of the march that we commemorated yesterday, so with all due respect, go f*ck yourself.

breathtaking cluelessness barely begins to cover it.

    WTF

was he suppose to wait for the RepubliCONs to bring it up in 2016?

like they’re really wanting to make it simple for people to vote?

It’s so horrible of Obama to bring up voting rights when we here at Fox are busy ignoring the commemoration of a historic march for voting rights! And now, back to our regularly scheduled bigotry and misrepresentation….

what part of that don’t these people comprehend? they don’t like that his speeches include facts.

You are the one who made a stupid mistake, dumbass lady. Do you think that President Obama should have talked about the weather instead? How did you become a columnist?

I know it’s wrong to feel this way, but it would be so satisfying to see someone just slap her upside her head and yell “WRONG!” right in her face.
    I ask for understanding.

is it a bad hair blonde problem or do these folks see the writing on the wall – “I am a bad student and writer so maybe I should adopt the roll of asshole reporter, shake things up and get on TV.”

I’ve noticed that “high voter turnout” meme in many right wing claims lately. Anyone know which dark place they’re pulling that from? Obe the Researcher, got any ideas?

faux entertainment is hardly the place anyone that supported President Obama would go to hear their version of events. It would be hard for me to believe anyone who voted for Obama would have on this channel for anything other than wondering what the “other side” thinks. The hate is so damn rabid, anything positive our President has done will not be acknowledged and if anything, their stance that the voter ID should not be included in his speech simply validates that it definitely should of been.

I think it would be interesting to experience a day, just a single day that wasn’t used as an opportunity to make a dig at the president.

    • William March 9th, 2015 at 4:51 pm

      Good luck with that one.
