[su_right_ad]Ted “Shecky” Cruz probably thought this would get him in good with the International Association of Firefighters.  Too bad they tend to vote Democratic.

“By the way, I understand Secretary Clinton chose not to join us,” Cruz told the International Association of Fire Fighters, a group that typically supports Democratic candidates. “If only you could have found a foreign nation to foot the bill.”

This was a reference to a report last month that the Clinton Foundation accepted donations from foreign governments during Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.

According to reporters on the scene, the joke elicited only groans from the largely unappreciative crowd.

Most fire fighters are municipal employees and are for the most part UNIONIZED

Rule number one in comedy–know your audience. Cruz is arrogant enough to think that everybody loves him. It’s going to be fun to watch him on his way down. And his daddy too.

      • rg9rts March 11th, 2015 at 12:47 pm

That was my first thought too

        • bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 2:57 pm

Thanks. Pilotshark seemed offended that I didn’t mention Ted’s mommy–who of course is and was an American citizen when he was born. Though it is sad to ponder too deeply, I’ve always faced the fact that Ted is indeed eligible for the Presidency. I didn’t mention her simply because I haven’t heard much about her.

Low profile like all trained gopee women ….or she is ashamed of him

      • Pilotshark March 11th, 2015 at 12:53 pm

speaking of Daddy, where is Mom? you know American MOM?

gee for family values you never hear about dear old sweet american born mom, why is that? her apply pie not as american as it should be?

        • bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 2:54 pm

I haven’t heard much about her except that she’s his anchor mommy. I don’t know if she bakes at all for instance, though that WAS an issue when Bill Clinton was running for President.
Seriously, I’ve heard more than plenty from and about his daddy–who is bat poop crazy. I hope that Ted takes him on all of his campaign tours.

It is just like living in the South…the Right always assumes that you love hearing their racist jokes.

        • bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 2:51 pm

My last job was like that. They just assumed that we all watched Fox and listened to Rush and hated having a blah man in the White House.

Conservatives should avoid making jokes. They are incapable of humor.

    Dumbass

      I think you misspelled “rouge”…

      • William March 11th, 2015 at 1:27 pm

        Thanx,

        • bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 2:50 pm

And thank YOU for the chuckle. It’s actually a pretty flattering picture of him.

      • jybarz March 11th, 2015 at 10:14 pm

The spelling is correct from Palin’s book cover.

        http://www.booktopia.com.au/going-rogue-sarah-palin/prod9780061939907.html?source=pla&gclid=CNabmonaocQCFUaTvQodQrQArg

Palin is the one who mispelled it, if she actually meant “rouge”. But who knows what Palin the numbskull, scatterbrain really was thinking. It’s probably a play on word that the writer of the book, not Palin, suggested to use. Palin would be mentally incapable to come up with it.

        ROGUE
Adjective: “no longer obedient, belonging, or accepted and hence not controllable or answerable; deviating, renegade: a rogue cop; a rogue union local.”

Noun: “a dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel.”

        ROUGE
        adjective, French.
“red; noting the red numbers in roulette.”

Ted Cruz is funny all right. Funny ‘gee’, not funny ‘Ha Ha’!!

  5. bluejayray March 11th, 2015 at 12:14 pm

Ted Cruz funny? Now THAT would be funny. Seriously, I hope he continues to bomb. No self-respecting working person would vote for the neo-Reich.

This story is the perfect paradigm for the utter cluelessness which besets the far right. Ever-insulated in their bubble, they are completely unprepared for the reality that their views are not shared by many if not most Americans.

This story is dated two days ago. Hey Sen. Cruz maybe you should fire your research staff or at least hire an IT professional to teach them to use the Google.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/mar/9/elizabeth-warren-received-enthusiastically-by-fire/

Add members of the International Association of Fire Fighters to the growing list of Democrats clamoring for liberal firebrand Sen. Elizabeth Warren to run for president and give the party an alternative to Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2016.

Mrs. Warren on Monday wowed the IAFF annual conference in Washington with her trademark pitch, garnering a standing ovation as she railed against a government that she says doles out subsidies for big corporations while doing less and less for working families.
