Cruz says he plans to introduce a Constitutional amendment to allow states to ban gay marriage.

Ted Cruz told Iowa talk radio host Jan Mickelson yesterday that he plans to introduce a constitutional amendment to allow states to ban gay and lesbian couples from marrying because court decisions in favor of marriage equality present “a real danger to our liberty.”

The Texas Republican deflected Mickelson’s questions on whether states could simply ignore a Supreme Court decision in favor of marriage equality, saying he preferred his constitutional amendment as a solution. “If the courts were following the Constitution, we shouldn’t need a new amendment, but they are, as you put it quite rightly, making it up right now and it’s a real danger to our liberty,” he said.[su_center_ad]

Oh the irony. Teddy, the real danger to our liberty is to try to use our Constitution to deny rights rather than to protect them.

He should thank the founders that he has the right to spew this crap freely.

It’s sad really, that a person from Canadian has to go all the way down to Texas to find people stupid enough to vote him into an office. But that’s what happens when gerrymandering backfires and leaves the door wide open for anyone to take advantage.

Oh sure, listen to one of the #47Traitors on who is a danger to our liberty.

Oh they were just kidding around! Letter-schmetter! It was just a silly prank!…
(I can’t believe that they are actually saying that now that the “prank” went bluey on them)

I like Rand Paul’s excuse the best. He said they wanted to “strengthen the president’s hand”. So, instead of sending the letter to the White House, they sent it to Iran.
        .
I guess they thought that’s where the president hangs out – being a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and all.

Every time I see a picture of young Rand, I think “twit”.

“it’s a real danger to our liberty,” says Cruz. How? They never say how. All they ever do is throw the red meat to the dog pack and change the subject.

Does he have any idea how offensive he is? (I already know the answer)

Cruz is a danger to America

He should know that such an amendment would go no where. Just a right wing snow job for the low effort thinkers that vote for this clown.

If I had a gay couple living to the left me, who would smile and wave and say good morning while playing with their puppy in the yard. And have a big bearded redneck slapping his kids around and shooting his gun while raising his Gadsen flag to the right. I would feel my liberty is much more threatened by the guy on the right.

These idiots are so focused on minority communities to try to unite the majority, but what they are not seeing is their stupidity is destroying our country.

How is equality a danger to our country and liberty? I want one rwnj to explain, without theocratic babble, what the problem is.

  12. Angelo_Frank March 12th, 2015 at 8:12 pm

Ted can introduce any darn amendment he pleases. That’s his prerogative. Of course, it will probably go nowhere.
