A 57-year-old Utah man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in what police say was a ‘simple accident’ Friday evening. Drinking and guns just don’t mix. There’s nothing accidental about that.     The words “simple accident” don’t call anything like this to my mind. Fatal stupidity maybe. A simple accident would be dropping a hammer on your foot. At least he didn’t shoot anyone else.

      this story reminded me of the one a few weeks back when another idiot at a party was doing the same thing and killed an 8 mo. pregnant woman. police, “accident.” yeah, you’re right, thank goodness he didn’t kill anyone else.

    Gee–too bad he didn’t get to practice with it more–he would have figured it out eventually, I’m sure. Seriously, good riddance, and I’m glad he didn’t take any toddlers with him.

    Sadly, another fatality that would have been prevented by the cheap, simple and effective magazine disconnect. The technology has been available for decades, but widely reviled by so many “enthusiasts”.
