Robert Jeffress of the First Baptist Church of Dallas says God punished America by having radical Muslims attack us on 9/11 because we permit abortion.

Jeffress spoke at Liberty University’s convocation this morning, where he told the student audience that America’s complete collapse was unavoidable, thanks to Supreme Court rulings banning organized prayer and Bible study in public schools, legalizing abortion, and striking down bans of gay sex.

These rulings, Jeffress declared, have “so weakened the moral and spiritual infrastructure of our nation that our collapse is inevitable,” explaining that the 9/11 terrorist attack was God’s judgment upon America for the sin of abortion.

“All you have to do is look in history to see what God does with a nation that sanctions the killing of its own children,” he said. “Just look at the nation of Israel … Because they got involved in the worship of Moloch, the pagan god, and they sacrificed their children on the altar, what did God do? He raised up the godless Babylonians and Assyrians to bring judgement on his own people.”

“People ask me all the time,” Jeffress continued, “‘Well, I just don’t understand why God wouldn’t protect our nation and he would allow these radical Muslims in 2001 to kill 3,000 of our citizens and why God doesn’t protect us. Surely, God doesn’t use pagans to bring judgment upon his own people, does he?'”

“Just read the Bible,” he said. “God will not allow sin to go unpunished and he certainly won’t allow the sacrifice of children to go unpunished.”

explaining that the 9/11 terrorist attack was God’s judgment upon America for the sin of abortion.

“All you have to do is look in history to see what God does with a nation that sanctions the killing of its own children,” he said.

From the Wikipedia entry “Casualties of the September 11 attacks”:

The dead included eight children: five on American Airlines Flight 77 ranging in age from 3 to 11, three on United Airlines Flight 175 ages 2, 3, and 4.

So the god this guy worships kills people’s kids to punish adults for permitting legal abortion?

Yep, just be sure to insert the word “safe”. Safe and legal abortion. Douchenuggets.

Well the good Christians are only interested in the pre-born. I attended a catholic mass once(visiting family thing) where the sermon was on abortion. The priest stood up there and said the tragedy of abortion is not that the children died through abortion but that the children died unbaptized. I got up and left and waited in the parking lot for the family to come out. What an evil philosophy. Religion fosters these psychopaths.

So let me get this straight….
“god will not allow sin to go unpunished’…
    Yet he, (god) allows sin..
Seems like “god” enjoys a vicious circle of sin and punishment to me..
Thats one sick “god” if thats what you believe in.

You can’t help wonder why god created evil in the first place.

Oh fer pity effer’s sake! Prove it, or shut up. I would like lawyers and legislators to start calling on god to be brought into the courthouse and/or Congress whenever these idiots start telling us what god did and why. If they can’t produce this god, then it is just hearsay.

He lied to the gullible every Sunday, likely twice. Why tell the truth now?
Just as bad, Alan has had this yutz on the radio program several times, and I’m sure he lied like a rug then too.

There is nothing in the Bible that says abortion is a sin. The passage saying “I knew you before you were formed in the womb” is referring to jesus in marys womb as being the PROPHET, not savior of men

    • bpollen March 31st, 2015 at 11:35 pm

The bible even has a recipe FOR abortion – Numbers 5:11-21

I know, the new testament changes the meaning of several passages by changing the translation and using peters words.

          Hosea 13:16:
The people of Samaria must bear their guilt,
because they have rebelled against their God.
          They will fall by the sword;
their little ones will be dashed to the ground,
          their pregnant women ripped open

    • Dwendt44 April 1st, 2015 at 12:19 am

god is the greatest abortionist ever. Think how many children and pregnant women died in the mythical ‘great flood’. Back then, women were pregnant much of the time.

the bible writers knew darn well that the earth was flat and there was nothing at all on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

    • bpollen April 1st, 2015 at 6:09 am

You can’t say that iron age writers didn’t know everything, because that would imply that other things they thought might also be wrong. But they were inspired by God, so they couldn’t be wrong. Better than 90% of all professional Christians say so because that’s what they were told. And if you can’t trust people who have a financial interest in the outcome to tell the truth, the who can you trust?

So, disaster is brought about by tolerance to sin? Are conservatives trying to out stupid and out mean each other every day or what.

  17. anothertoothpick April 1st, 2015 at 8:31 am

Rather than a devotion to the family of man, the evangelical church’s long standing mission has been to maintain deep divisions.

Where is this guy getting his information from??? It’s already been established by great intellectuals such as Pat Robertson and the late Jerry Falwell, that the gays were responsible for 9/11 – and tsunamis and tornadoes.
