Conservatives Outraged At Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Alternative Pledge Of Allegiance

Tyson had a little fun with the Pledge of Allegiance. You’d think he was mocking Jesus Christ.
Earlier this week, Tyson offered his thoughts on Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, telling the Daily Beast that homophobia “almost always entirely stems from religion” and that the state’s religious legislators should remind themselves that other people have different belief systems that might contradict theirs.
And on Thursday, he tweeted an alternative version of the Pledge of Allegiance:

I was having a bit of fun with those morons on twitter……what I noticed is that these sad little hateful creatures immediately discounted Tyson as a scientist.
according to them Tyson is stupid and unqualified. …just a show off….
some of this may be racism but I think a lot of it is pure jealously.

We had a similar thing happen here with a Midwife who wanted to teach pregnant women meditation techniques to relax. Since all of our health care system here is run by the catholic church, that was a non-starter.

I told my landlady that I was using meditation to help me sleep–she seriously looked at me and told me that she hoped that I would consider Jesus–SAY WHAT? These simpletons have been told that if you meditate or do yoga, that you are letting the devil in. Seriously.
