So liberals are responsible for record-low snowpack in California?
Is there any Republican politician who is not a complete idiot?
Are there any Republican voters intelligent enough to recognize that liberals do not control snowfall in California or anywhere else, or are all of you idiots too?
We liberals are certainly an omnipotent bunch, controlling the weather. Incidentally, that was the plot of the Avengers movie based on the old British TV show with John Steed and Emma Peel.
Not surprising that in order to pander to low information right wing voters, Fiorina presents a fictional movie plot.

“As it stands, California can store only enough water in reservoirs to cover the state’s needs for about a year and a half.”
Data released this week by NASA show that the state’s snowpack was about 6 percent of normal levels. That’s about 40 percent of last year’s peak, which was itself just 24 percent of normal levels.

After sampling the comments on the original story at Mediate, it appears that the right wing talking point will be that California lacks the ability to store more than 18 months of water because the irresponsible liberals and environmental wackos blocked attempts at building more infrastructure for water storage.
Aside from the fact that they present not a single word of evidence to support this contention, let us be realistic.
For those facilities to be of any use in the current drought, they would have to have been built years ago when the state had no water use issues but did in fact have large budget deficits. So they are telling us that right wing Republicans in this state would have happily agreed to spend hundreds of millions of dollars more in order to prepare for a problem that did not exist at the time.
In the real world, not polluted by talk radio/FOX misinformation we all know that here in California, Republicans have been in engaged in a fight to the death to prevent the government from spending money on anything. To think they would have supported spending on water storage is ludicrous.
Bottom line, they are criticizing Democratic leader ship for not implementing policy that none of them would have supported in the first place.
Just another day in hypocritical, fact-free right wing America.

As a young Anthropology student many decades (!) ago, I learned of the Cargo Cults of the South Pacific Islanders, who reasoned that the best way to bring back the US Air Force planes and the attendant luxury-laden cargoes of the wartime years was by building “airports” in the jungle, complete with crude “runways,” bamboo “towers,” with “controller” dummies with coconut “headphones” in ’em, etc. and wait for the cargoes to return.
They never did, of course, a lesson apparently lost on Carly Fiorina. You can’t make it rain by building a reservoir.

Seems losing the gig at HP and that last run for office pushed Carly over the edge, huh? She was always a bit testy and loony, but this shows that she has fully jumped the shark now. The woman hasn’t a prayer; what a huge waste of cash.

In the last 50 years California has only had one other democratic governor besides Jerry Brown and they recalled him! The democrats have never had a complete majority in the whole history of the state until Jan, 2013 that also happens to be about the time of the first balanced budget with a surplus in about 100 years.
California is a huge red state with a few blue cities and the time to have done something about land and water conservation was 50 to 100 years ago.
