Pastor: You Need A Penis To Lead

Leadership is not for girls, says Bill Lytell of the Gospel Baptist Church in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Lytell was pretty jazzed about all the great publicity the church got last month when a 9-year-old boy — a pre-man, if you will — found a loaded gun in the church’s and brought it home with him, because of all the exposure the news story gave to the church’s “Male Leadership” sign.
The testosterone-filled preacher mansplains:
Don’t you be ashamed you go to a church with male leadership. Every church that’s right with God oughta have a sign: “Male Leadership.” Because that’s the only kind of leadership, both from Adam all the way to the last part of the Bible. It’s all been male. This is a man’s world! And all the men said… [pause, then manly voices say “Amen!”]
There aren’t many places were men can ever rejoice anymore without feeling about half-ashamed because they try to put you down or sue you or something, but brother this is a man’s world. You can say what you want, you can do what you want, but God made Adam in leadership and it’s going to end with a man in leadership. It doesn’t make men better, it’s just God’s way!

all these GOP/TP and “men of GOD” asswipes, are too obsessed with penises. everyday its about a penis this or a penis that or 2 men this or 2 men that. there are many educated and well rounded men today, because of a strong mother who was the leader of her home, who raised her sons by herself. so he can go fk himself.

Well, as misogynistic as it is, at least he’s following the Bible closer than most who rail against things they simply cherry-pick out of it.
It’s right there in the same New Testament book that condemns homosexuality (1 Corinthians):
“34 Women[a] should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.”
As far as I’m concerned, if you’re not practicing laws from the same book you protest homosexuality from, then you don’t deserve to make that protest at all.
(Not that I support either of those laws/rules, I’m jus sayin…)

According to an April 3 article in TIME magazine, written by a female psychologist:
“Biologically speaking, postmenopausal women are ideal candidates for leadership.”
This directly implies that premenopausal women are somewhat LESS than ideal candidates for leadership. Because if the author believed that ALL women were ideal candidates, she would not have inserted the “postmenopausal” qualifier.
Suppose Elizabeth Warren decides to run. Do we need to know whether she is also postmenopausal? Of course not. This TIME magazine article is ridiculous.
Which leads to one question: Why isn’t the TIME article getting the same kind of criticism that this pastor is getting?
