Jumps To Death Off George Washington Bridge

A Westchester County, NY woman jumped off the George Washington Bridge Sunday morning.
A New York City harbor unit recovered the woman’s body around 7:30 a.m. Her car was found at Fort Lee Historic Park. Authorities will not release the woman’s name until notifying the family of her death.
Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo told NJ.com that this is the fourth suicide at the George Washington Bridge in 2015.
According to WNYC, someone attempts suicide at the bridge every three-and-a-half days. In 2014, police prevented 74 people from jumping; all 18 jumpers died.
