Rather: Williams Done; NBC ‘Vicious’

Dan Rather says Brian Williams is likely done, but that NBC has been “vicious” about leaking information about the investigation.
“Objectively it’s very hard to see how NBC brings him back,” Rather said. “I said some time ago I thought his chances were slim to none. You could make a case that slim just left town…Corporations want to put things behind them. If they make the decision to bring Brian back that doesn’t put it behind them.”
Though the decision about whether and how to allow Williams to return is still “weeks away,” details of NBC’s investigation were leaked to the New York Times, in which the network was said to have discovered more embellishments that would imperil Williams’ already shaking chances of reclaiming his news chair.
Rather called those leaks “vicious.”
“Why dump this on him when he’s not able to speak for himself?” he said. “When Brian is down they come from behind him and give him a whack on the back of the neck.”

Contrast this action with that of another “newsman” who lied his tookas off but his “news channel” took no action against him.

That was by design, a feature… Not a bug.. though with the lies that come out of his a$$ he should expect to be doing time.
