Right-wing anti-gay activist Janet Porter believes that those who don’t want to participate in gay weddings will wind up in jail.

“I’m telling you that if the court dares to issue another Roe v. Wade, in this case the Roe v. Wade for marriage, we will not obey it,” she said. “We’ll go to jail if we have to go to jail, but we will not bow to this agenda and violate our beliefs in God.”

“It’s happening in the state of Idaho,” she claimed. “They’re going after pastors in Idaho right now and saying, ‘Unless you oversee, participate in a homosexual wedding, we’re going to put you in jail.’”

Porter was referring to a case in Couer D’Alene in which the owners of a for-profit wedding chapel filed a lawsuit claiming that they could face decades of jail time for refusing to perform same-sex marriages, which did not turn out to be at all true.

This isn’t the first time that Porter has warned that advances in LGBT equality will land Christians in jail. In 2009, Porter warned that an LGBT-inclusive hate crimes law would send “ pastors to prison for biblical positions and speech,” a prediction that nearly six years later has not come to pass.

Why is she so apoplectic towards gay marriage? Why does she have so much hatred towards something she claims to have no knowledge of? She has something else going on, whether it is in her little head or she has emotions she doesn’t know how to deal with in a proper form.

she has a bad case of the stupids.

      • Suzanne McFly April 28th, 2015 at 7:16 pm

I didn’t realize “the stupids” could be that bad and a person can still know how to breath.

ReaganBook blunderer Janet Porter thinks life begins in a petri dish because a few fetal heart cells naturally begin to beat in 10 days.

I would try to understand how the universe works before I would try to figure out how these people’s brains work.

            Easy! E=MC^2 !
Versus the opposite for today’s faux cons who conserved nothing since Nixon’s EPA and GHWB’s clean water act Electioneering.

She knows damn well that no one will force anyone to preside over a gay marriage. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people out there who will believe her.

    • StoneyCurtisll April 28th, 2015 at 7:51 pm

      Exactly~!

  3. Obewon April 28th, 2015 at 7:44 pm

Good! Xenophobes who break the law should be tried, convicted, fined and imprisoned! Just like former guber (R-VA) Bob and Maureen McDonnell, Resigned Rep (R- Staten Isle) Michael Grimm, FEC Felony campaign briber Dinesh D’Souza, et al.

  4. StoneyCurtisll April 28th, 2015 at 7:51 pm

More insanity from the Right wing…
    Mother make it stop~!

“claiming that they could face decades of jail time for refusing to perform same-sex marriages, which did not turn out to be at all true.”

So on top of being prejudiced and discriminatory, they’re liars too. How christian of them.

    • fahvel April 29th, 2015 at 3:35 am

personally I think they should spend decades in jail – true martyrs like all the former dead martyrs that they wear around their idolotrist necks and head boards and walls and, cripee, museums and………..

  6. labman57 April 28th, 2015 at 9:00 pm

Christian conservatives really, really, really want to be regarded as martyrs in their quest to deny the LGBT community equal rights under the law.

    • granpa.usthai April 29th, 2015 at 12:50 am

don’t see what any of them have to bitch about. Those who are beginning to protest marriage (based on scriptures) between a man and a woman ain’t doing a damn thing to them that they ain’t doing to others.

I don’t really care if they marry or not – but this ‘we’ll wear mixed fibers and still be godly’ is a crock!

      THAT! should be jail time!!!

    • katkelly57 April 29th, 2015 at 4:19 am

Maybe as martyrs they’ll encounter gay virgins as their reward.

  7. William April 28th, 2015 at 9:08 pm

It’s sad that gay marriage has such an adverse effect on her. I hope she feels better soon.

    • granpa.usthai April 29th, 2015 at 12:31 am

no doubt their next holy quest!

stop gay spouses from turning their spouse gay in a straight marriage.

    • whatthe46 April 29th, 2015 at 12:42 am

      stole that one too.

      coeur with the o&e attached.

  9. Chris April 28th, 2015 at 10:30 pm

The real pity is that the fools who believe her tend to both have such short memories and also forgive the screaming crackpots because they belong to the same tribe (of beliefs.)

Kinda like the nuts who bought the WMD line from Bush/Cheney and are still not admitting to being duped. Or the same crowd now getting their hate on for Iran, ignoring the fact that if we don’t conclude this arms agreement, they will get nukes even quicker.

  10. fahvel April 29th, 2015 at 3:27 am

the hang up with gay anything from the xian right in your country seems, shall I say, a bit over the top. What do these mindless (and I use the word carefully) people think will happen? They crawl out of their safe sunday school minds and whimper over nothing and then expect sane folks to understand their pathetic plight. “Oh my!”

  11. katkelly57 April 29th, 2015 at 4:16 am

Oh ffs…put this nutter under the nearest jail.

    • fredoandme April 29th, 2015 at 7:30 am

why, the logistics alone will be maddening, coordinating such an event will require professional level skills and catering to perhaps hundreds of gay bridezillas will be epic.
let’s do it. look at that face up there. with her piehole open. she’s practically asking for it.

    • Roctuna April 29th, 2015 at 7:43 am

It would be a tremendous stimulant to the local economy! Think of all the business for cake-makers, florists, caterers, photographers, dj’s, and bartenders, not to mention crisis councilors for people like her. Fabulous!

  12. Bunya April 29th, 2015 at 2:52 pm

You’re liberals! Where’s your compassion? Isn’t it obvious by her obsession with gay marriage that she’s in desperate need of a good schlepping? Now, which one of you men (or possibly women) are brave enough to step up to the challenge?

    • Budda April 29th, 2015 at 5:38 pm

Not me..I do have SOME standards.

  13. TWR April 29th, 2015 at 6:29 pm

Gay marriage has already landed Christians in jail, phony Christians that is! They have been physically assaulted and even murdered by these so called Christians.

  14. liberalMD April 30th, 2015 at 3:32 am

She’s absolutely correct…..but not for the reasons she’d like you to believe. “Christians” will go to jail if the ban on gay marriage is declared unconstitutional because there are still too many reactionaries within the ranks of conservatives in the United States…..the likes of the Westboro Baptist Church, Timothy McVeigh and Russell Henderson/Aaron Mckinney. While the LGBT community may proclaim a victory if the ban on same sex marriage is deemed unconstitutional, there will be many people who will be out for revenge or to “preserve the sanctity of marriage”.

  15. Setag Mailliw April 30th, 2015 at 2:19 pm

I’ve heard the comparison to Roe v. Wade a few times now. They seem to be using it as a threat. In the end, gay marriage is not as controversial as abortion and will stop being an issue for most Americans. There are many freedoms we have today that Bible thumpers have fought in the past.

  16. Chinese Democracy April 30th, 2015 at 3:21 pm

I would not mind extremist hate mongers like her going to prison
