If the Supreme Court rules for gay marriage, it’s “a just cause for war,” says Alan Keyes.

Keyes claims that such a decision “will be an attack on the very foundation of constitutional government, of by and for the people of the United States” that, “like the Dred Scott decision that heralded the onset of the first Civil War,” will “bring the nation to the brink” and represent “a high crime and misdemeanor that effectively dissolves the just bonds of government between and among the states, and among the individuals who compose the people of the United States…It will therefore be just cause for war.”

Poor Alan Keyes must be feeling quite lonely. Thus he decided to speak out and make a statement that does nothing but try to gain attention. The GOP members know very little about fighting a WAR or what is worth going to WAR over. The fast majority of them back going for WAR as long as someone else has to do all of the fighting, while they sit on their butts save at home. This is how all reading his comments know that Keyes is desperately trying to gain some attention.

Comments like that probably constitute incitement to violence. If they don’t land him in jail, they at least ought to have him committed to a mental institution.

oh, jasperjava – we don’t have mental institutions anymore, silly!!

Somebody enlighten me: how influential is World Net Daily? If they give publicity to this noted loser who got his posterior booted by Obama very early on and has proceeded to never win any elected office, why should we be giving this guy more credence than the ravings of the disturbed?

No one reads it except extreme righties. Occasionally someone posts a link here and they get laughed at. It’s as credible as Limbaugh or Alex Jones. Or Breitbart.

To demonstrate their commitment to “the law of the land” and our sacred U.S. Constitution, many conservative pundits and politicians strive to eliminate those Amendments that conflict with their ideology, simply ignore other sections that they find inconvenient to honor, and to pick and choose which court rulings and SCOTUS decisions they deem worthy to abide and which federal laws they will encourage their constituents to defy.

Yet another example of the conservatives’ vision of “American exceptionalism”.

    Equal rights? This means war!

Gee, is Keyes a Son of the Confederacy? You know, those guys who said “No slaves? This means war!”

      • bpollen May 3rd, 2015 at 9:19 pm

I woulda said scrofulous package of pig offal, but “stupid” is much more terse. Short, and to the point.
