Expect more insanity as the Supreme Court decides on marriage equality.

Writing in the American Thinker today, Robert Oscar Lopez suggests that the federal government should be prepared to pay “reparations” to children raised by gay and lesbian parents, just as it did to Japanese-Americans who were sent to internment camps during World War II.

Lopez, who is openly bisexual but opposes marriage equality in part because he contends he was injured by growing up with a lesbian mother, compares people who give positive accounts of being raised by gay parents to “happy Japanese-Americans” who “were actually exceedingly harsh, even cruel, to the Japanese-Americans who defied the government and tried to resist internment.”

But, he writes, by 2030 “you won’t have to worry about PFLAG’s wunderkinder.  It’s the others you will have to worry about, because there will be a lot of them, and like the Japanese-Americans who came around to contesting what Roosevelt did to them, they will be organized and demanding to be repaid for what was taken from them: gender diversity, gender equality at home, their heritage, their legacy, their identity.”

I’m beginning to wonder whether the interwebs are a good thing when nutsy stuff like this is given credence. Gotta take the bad with the good, I guess.

    How were you harmed?

    • Suzanne McFly May 2nd, 2015 at 9:05 pm

Living in that self-hate state of mind is what harmed him, not his mother who happens to be a lesbian.

and he is bi-sexual, self loathing is terrible to see in people

What about reparations to us kids with “straight” parents who were married because it was expected, not because they believed they would be together forever. Because of the expectations, a loveless marriage has been created by millions of couples so now us kids of “straight” parents refuse to marry because we refuse to be miserable in life like our parents are. Where are our reparations?

I’d love for him to explain those rantings to George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek).

I spent my boyhood behind the barbed wire fences of American internment camps and that part of my life is something that I wanted to share with more people.

He’s one sandwich short of a picnic.
To bad his mother has passed on, she was a psychiatrist, as is his father, she could have helped poor widdle ROL, helped him through pharmacy.

Like children of clergy, children of shrinks are not noted for their having learned from their parents.

      • allison1050 May 2nd, 2015 at 10:09 pm

Now that’s true. I sat for a little boy once while in high school and his mother the shrink would have her son pick out his most favorite comic and would slowly tear it in front of him while he screamed and cried…I’d forgotten that. I just knew the bitch mother was a nut!

And what is really galling about it is that she should be well aware of the cruelty and mental and emotional distress inherent in that kind of parenting. Sounds like SHE was giving torture advice in Iraq.

Sorry you nitwit, there is no money in the government bank for reparations to anyone.

  7. Larry Schmitt May 3rd, 2015 at 4:47 am

Maybe, if he was harmed, his mother was just a bad parent, regardless of her sexual orientation. So now we have to pay money to people who have bad parents? My father beat the crap out of me all the time. And I have 11 brothers and sisters who will vouch for me. Where’s my money? And theirs too.

Reparations from our Government ? Take a number and go to the back of the line.
