An actress on the show and a show writer have now come forward.

One of the women, Lili Bernard, is an actress who played Mrs. Minnifield during the last season of The Cosby Show. The other, Sammie Mays, says Cosby attacked her at a TV conference.

Bernard says Cosby drugged and raped her during what was supposed to be a “mentoring” session before filming scenes for the show…

Bernard says she did not come forward before because the last time she saw him at the studio in 1992, he allegedly told her, “As far as I’m concerned, Bernard, you’re dead. Do you hear me? You’re dead, Bernard. You don’t exist, I never wanna see your face again. Now get the hell out of here!”

Mays says Cosby drugged her at the National Association of Television Program Executives conference in New Orleans in the mid-1980s. She was a writer covering the event who agreed to an interview in Cosby’s hotel room.

True but it often seems her cases are almost as much about her as the victim.

Are any of these cases ever going to court?

Some of these women are in my age group or close to it so them I understand. In the 70’s not reporting it I understand but the much younger women I need someone to explain it to me. Maybe I’m missing it because of the difference in ages.

i thought all the women were at least in their 40’s or 50’s. his ass wasn’t so charming or good looking into the 80’s, so i can’t see any woman letting him get that close. but, some were just naive i suppose. because its bill and to protect themselves decided not to tell. guess they didn’t think anyone would believe them. personally, i think after all this time, having not said anything, i would want to forget it. for some it appears not to have been so easy and with so many coming forth, they feel supportative. good for them.

Can someone please explain why so many women failed to press charges against this man immediately after the acts were committed? Why didn’t anyone put a stop to this, for the sake of potential future victims? The administration of drugs to a person without their knowledge or consent is a criminal act. That alone should have been sufficient to bring charges. I do not blame the victims for being attacked, but it is pretty obvious that a lot of people suffered needlessly. Some have claimed that Cosby’s fame and power prevented these women from coming forward. In order to believe that, you would have to believe that all journalists and media outlets are subservient to Cosby. That doesn’t add up. Rolling Stone published the story of one woman, without checking the facts, and managed to shut down every fraternity at the University of Virginia. There are plenty of people in the media who would have been willing to believe these women. Gloria Allred has been representing women for decades. The women I know are strong. They would not have kept silent about such an attack. They would have gone public and pressed charges against anyone who attacked them in such a manner, regardless of how famous the person was. Young women have been joining the military to face great danger and sometimes die in America’s wars for decades. Those women have guts. These women appear utterly spineless in comparison.
