The lawsuit comes after the family of 56-year-old John Timiriasieff was contacted by detectives to tell them his leg, removed in October at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables,…

This kind of thing is not that unusual. Some years ago, my nephew was killed in a car accident. My sister and brother in law just knew that he had been in the accident and rushed to the hospital. While waiting to hear whether he was still alive, my brother in law went out into the back of the hospital for a smoke, and found his son’s dead body on a gurney next to a dumpster. This is how he found out his son had died.

The hospital claims it was only moved there temporarily because of space issues and it was unfortunate that he discovered it in the short window it was out of the morgue.

That would be a terrible discovery to make. Normally when I hear someone has sued someone else for “pain and suffering,” I think it’s BS. This fits the definition of pain and suffering.

They did not sue. They didn’t want to make money from the death of their son.

          Heads should have rolled.

Most, but not all, hospitals contract with a service to deal with bio waste in general, and tissue in particular (they are packaged differently to show the difference – bio is red, tissue is yellow.) This service picks up the waste, and then THEY dispose of it. Can’t say that is the case with this hospital, but it has been in those I have worked in.

Tragic, if true – I find it hard to believe, though.

interesting. I suppose I should be upset that you are calling me a liar, but frankly, you don’t know me so I must assume that you are just making an assumption because it seem unpleasant.

        • starskeptic May 5th, 2015 at 4:13 pm

Who said anything about anyone lying? Or do you assume that whenever you get challenged on something?

          • Jeffrey Samuels May 6th, 2015 at 8:33 am

sorry, when you said you found it hard to believe, it appeared to be an accusation. This is why chatting can be dangerous. It is sometimes difficult to correctly interpret intent.

            My Apologies.

I just find it hard to see a body that’s been involved in an accident being rushed to the morgue – but then I didn’t think a hospital would get caught improperly disposing of amputated parts, either

I do it only because it must be done…

I don’t think he has a leg to stand on…

    • starskeptic May 3rd, 2015 at 8:01 am

Except for the one leg remaining, that would have been a bad joke; as it is – it’s no joke at all.

        Come on, lighten up.

        • starskeptic May 3rd, 2015 at 12:43 pm

          Um, no.

Okay . Next you’ll be yelling for kids to get off your lawn.

Life’s too short to not laugh once in a while. Being miserable is no way to go through life.

Don’t quit your day job to work as a mind-reader; you apparently have no skills for it.

            Still grumpy? Too bad.

          • starskeptic May 4th, 2015 at 12:49 am

Still a tone troll? Your problem.

          • Budda May 4th, 2015 at 8:49 am

I’m not the only one laughing at you…and it’s no problem at all.

          • starskeptic May 4th, 2015 at 9:54 am

That chorus is the voices in your head, and – yeah, you’ve got a problem.

          • Budda May 4th, 2015 at 10:36 am

This is getting really funny. Oh, the angst. How high is your blood pressure? Blood squirting out of your ears yet?

            Still laughing at you.

          • starskeptic May 4th, 2015 at 10:42 am

I’m picturing you as Dr Evil so, if there’s any real laughing going on, it’s coming from my end.

          • Budda May 4th, 2015 at 12:58 pm

Good for you. Now we are getting some chuckles from you. Glad to have brightened up your day.

          • starskeptic May 4th, 2015 at 2:21 pm

I have no doubt that giggles follow you wherever you go…

          • bpollen May 5th, 2015 at 5:18 am

Are you 12? You argue like it. “I know you are but what am I?”

I know you think yourself a real wit… well, you are half right.

          • starskeptic May 5th, 2015 at 4:11 pm

Message received: you have limited self-awareness and understanding irony was way too far down your to-do list to be of use to you today.

      • bpollen May 3rd, 2015 at 2:42 pm

Ahh… but I didn’t say he doesn’t have ANY leg to stand on, I said he doesn’t have A leg to stand on. Except for what I said, that would have been a bad correction, as it is – it’s no correction at all.

        • starskeptic May 3rd, 2015 at 3:03 pm

That sounds like it came out of the Random Deepak Chopra Quote Generator, except that it makes less sense.

          • bpollen May 3rd, 2015 at 9:22 pm

Read the article. You will notice that the subject of the article lost a leg. Ergo, he can’t stand on it. If you can’t understand that, the fault is entirely your own. But thanks for likening me to Deepak Chopra. He thinks much more deeply than you show you are capable.

And, no, I won’t get off your lawn!

          • starskeptic May 4th, 2015 at 12:59 am

Keep digging – the only thing worst than making a tone-deaf, nonsensical, lame joke is trying to explain your way out of it. And speaking of tone-deaf, nonsensical, lame jokes – I wasn’t likening you to Deepak Chopra, just your fail in justifying your attempt at humor.

          • bpollen May 4th, 2015 at 4:10 am

Actually, I tried to explain accuracy of the joke that your ignorance prevented you from understanding. But, in fact, I don’t justify my humor. I’m just aware that a certain cognitive function is required to understand it. One you lack. But hey, insult some more. That certainly reinforces your position.

          • starskeptic May 4th, 2015 at 6:44 am

“But, in fact, I don’t justify my humor.”

Absolutely correct – you attempted to and failed, miserably.

          • bpollen May 5th, 2015 at 5:20 am

            Snicker…

          • starskeptic May 5th, 2015 at 4:14 pm

“I do it only because it must be done…”

            Lame…
