GoFundMe says the campaign for the cops accused in the death of Freddie Gray violates its policy.

The Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police created the page on Friday in hopes of creating a defense fund for their members involved in the case, but it was quickly taken down because according to the company, funds cannot be used for people accused of serious crimes.

“The campaign clearly stated that the money raised would be used to assist the officers with their legal fees, which is a direct violation of GoFundMe’s terms,” said GoFundMe.com spokesperson Kelsea Little…

The fundraising page was quickly filled up with negative posts about the officers …

One remarked, “this is the same site that let the Darren Wilson fundraiser rock. Keep that in mind.” And another quipped, “they haven’t been fired. Their union will provide them with any legal representation. They make $60-70k a year, they don’t need my $.

This is great! It is time for Police Unions to lead in vetting out bad Cops!

      It’ll never happen.

sadly you may be right. but, they aren’t getting away with their crimes as easily anymore. EYES are everywhere. guess we’ve gotta let them stay on and have the citizens catch them because the department won’t.

And on top of that it is clear public opinion is shifting away from the Police. Its going to get harder and harder for people like that clown f a DA in Ferguson to get away with not doing their jobs. I truly believe it!

its their own fault. and i think you’re right.

        • allison1050 May 3rd, 2015 at 2:14 pm

It’s going to take time and a good jury mix. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

wait a minute. since when did they decide to enact their rules? its about damn time. so the crimes the others were accused of “weren’t serious?” i just think that gofundme is getting a clue that their site is being used as a lottery for the racist and bigots.

    • allison1050 May 3rd, 2015 at 2:04 pm

They were reminded last week that it was illegal.

      • whatthe46 May 3rd, 2015 at 2:05 pm

reminded? you mean, they forgot their own damn rules?

        • allison1050 May 3rd, 2015 at 2:08 pm

I don’t think the cops/union really wants to dip into whats going to be a tremendous bill. But if it’s not illegal then it damned well should be. But then BPD has that other contract that gives them 10 days, I had never read about that before have you?

          • whatthe46 May 3rd, 2015 at 2:11 pm

if they don’t want to foot the money, then they should be doing the right thing and get rid of rogue cops. its their own damn fault. and what contract gives them 10 days for what?

          • allison1050 May 3rd, 2015 at 2:45 pm

I totally agree with. Do the right thing and there’s no problem but they seen to not accept that everyone has a camera and video at their fingertips…dumb.

          • whatthe46 May 3rd, 2015 at 4:33 pm

they NYPD started harrassing a woman who went outside a bar with friends to have a smoke, 2 cops approached her and started searching her, her friend started filming and the cops got ticked, so they arrested him and threw the phone out of the cruiser and broke it. the dummies didn’t know that they were being filmed by 3 other cameras. of course whatever trumped up charges against the guy was dropped. “The officers then charged Disisto and grabbed his wrist. They would later claim Disisto attacked them with a closed fist –something that does not appear in the video from any of the three angles.” fk ’em.

          • allison1050 May 3rd, 2015 at 5:31 pm

They refuse to just accept that cams are everywhere…dummies.

so in essence, they get 10 days to concoct a story. i say lock them up separately for 10 days w/o communication from anyone. have an inmate bring them their food only so that they cannot get word to the others. after the 10 days are up they get interviewed by special prosecutors. i bet you their stories will not match up and their goose will be cooked.

Why the hell would the Baltimore police need a gofundme page..
They already the FOP backing them up and paying for their defense.

I know the accused officers were on a “paid suspension”..while awaiting the findings of the investigation..
I wonder if they are still being paid after they have been charged with various criminal acts..?
