[Cross-posted at Hatewatch.] The U.S. military’s plan to conduct a training exercise this summer across seven states has become the latest hot-button topic for antigovernment conspiracy mongers who are advancing a plethora of wild-eyed theories. The exercise, called “Jade Helm,” is tantamount to martial law, they say, where special operations forces from four branches of the…

Why, that’s RACIST!!!!!!, as many of them will be happy to point out that he’s half white. Thus they aren’t being racist, you are for bringing it up!

Racist!

Alex Jones wouold be a terrific satirist if it weren’t so sad that he has lots of suckers who believe every made up word he says.

• Jack E Raynbeau May 5th, 2015 at 11:36 pm

The comment sections of his websites are hilarious.

3. Larry Schmitt May 5th, 2015 at 7:49 am

The army might as well admit it’s preparing for martial law, because these fools will never believe the truth. At least they’ll be happy for a while, until they find it’s not true.

• William May 5th, 2015 at 10:27 am

Sometimes they really don’t think very far ahead do they?
There are a lot of U.S military bases in Texas, and they were there long before Obama became the President.

• Larry Schmitt May 5th, 2015 at 10:37 am

But somehow it’s still his fault. Everything. Except the good stuff.

• Larry Schmitt May 5th, 2015 at 10:46 am

I don’t see Alex Jones in that picture. Or is he the one in the helmet?

4. Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 8:08 am

What a polite tyrannical dictatorship this will be; why, those jack-booted thugs intent on destroying freedom and liberty were so thoughtful, they even made schedules available! And held town-hall meetings! What gracious and thoughtful overlords we will have!
(In other news, Happy Cinco de Mayo!)

5. William May 5th, 2015 at 9:55 am

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who says he will have his state’s national guard “monitor” federal troops involved in the exercise.

• Larry Schmitt May 5th, 2015 at 10:05 am

It’s not the Texas National Guard he’s talking about, that’s the same mistake I made. It’s the Texas State Guard, his own private army. http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2015/05/02/403865824/texas-governor-deploys-state-guard-to-stave-off-obama-takeover

• William May 5th, 2015 at 10:10 am

Well geez, who the heck has their own private army?

I tried googling it and I keep coming up with something called “The Schutzstaffel

• Larry Schmitt May 5th, 2015 at 10:22 am

Well, there are a lot of German descendants in Texas. About 3,000,000 of them. Ever heard of New Braunfels?

• William May 5th, 2015 at 10:24 am

Nope. I was however surprised at the number of blue eyed blonde haired people I saw when I visited Peru and Equator.

• Larry Schmitt May 5th, 2015 at 10:35 am

A lot of Japanese descendants in Peru too. Fujimori, for example. Never assume that the people of any country are all alike.

• William May 5th, 2015 at 11:02 am

I was informed that there were people living there who were direct decedents of a popular party in Germany who were advised to split town and resettle in south/central America around 1945.

• Dwendt44 May 5th, 2015 at 12:03 pm

The true Spanish people are at least occasionally blonde and blue eyed. The ‘Hispanic’ people are largely Indian decent with some Spanish mixed in.

• bobby1122 May 5th, 2015 at 12:39 pm

Look up your boy Obama in 2007 calling for a private army as big and well equipted as the U.S. ARMY.

• OldLefty May 5th, 2015 at 1:07 pm

Do a little deeper fact checking to find out what Obama ACTUALLY said.

But then, why ruin the fun with facts?

• allison1050 May 5th, 2015 at 2:21 pm

You old stick in the mud!

• OldLefty May 5th, 2015 at 2:24 pm

I know!
Why let facts get in the way?

• allison1050 May 5th, 2015 at 2:27 pm

smiles

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 1:16 pm

The term is “President”, not “boy”.
(Sticks in your craw, doesn’t it?)

• Jeffrey Samuels May 5th, 2015 at 2:02 pm

well said

Do you always show your teabagger babble of ignorance?

• Suzanne McFly May 5th, 2015 at 3:24 pm

Unfortunately Tracey, once a teabagger always a teabagger. He has no other type of babble other than the ignorant kind.

• tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 3:25 pm

First time I saw him, is this normal?

• Suzanne McFly May 5th, 2015 at 3:27 pm

No idea, they all look the same to me.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 3:27 pm

You decide.

• tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 3:35 pm

wow, now you see why I left mediaite. Friday I decided enough, said what I wanted to a handfull of people . I would not be surprised if I am banned. This is the type of poster they want and protect.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 3:41 pm

I feelz ya…I actually have to close tabs sometimes, I get so angry with the willful displays of ignorance.

I mean shaking mad…hand-trembling mad!

.

.

And then I YouTube some Simon and Garfunkel or some Kristin Andreassen, and calm down.

• tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 3:54 pm

First politico now mediaite, both want the teabaggs/stormfront types. It gets boring and rarely am I shocked bt someone but mediaite has a few that shocked me.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 4:14 pm

They want the hits, and don’t care how they get them.
(That’s why I like this site and FreakOutNation: neither are afraid to stomp the reactionaries who want discord over debate (there’s “free speech”, and then there’s putting up with aƨƨholeƨ…).

• tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 4:15 pm

There it is, there are trolls on those sites who just spam and/or attack with stormfront babble.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 4:22 pm

It’s why I hardly ever go to MediaMatters anymore, too.

• tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 4:38 pm

I go there occassionaly, but there are a few who are hilariously ignorant

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 5:22 pm

That’s not the adjective I would use.

• tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 5:28 pm

I just left them, wow you are absolutely correct.

• William May 5th, 2015 at 3:05 pm

Congratulations. You have distinguished yourself in the teabagger spelling bee runoff.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 3:09 pm

He gets extra points for not confusing “your” with “you’re”, though, right?

• William May 5th, 2015 at 3:14 pm

He violated accepted troll doctrine.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 3:15 pm

What a looser!

• William May 5th, 2015 at 3:16 pm

He simply got carried away with his love for ‘Murica, and freedumb.

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 3:19 pm

You keep talkin’ ’bout “Murica and freedumb, Im’a gon’ start singin’ patriotic songs!<a href="http://images.sodahead.com/polls/000380255/polls_toby_keith_4212_522347_poll_xlarge.jpeg"

• Hirightnow May 5th, 2015 at 3:21 pm

Killing you……with FREEDOM!
(Hey, the military obviously didn’t do it to either of us, so…)

• William May 5th, 2015 at 3:30 pm

• Red Mann May 6th, 2015 at 5:39 pm

Wow, I’m pretty much hard core left but that article was unbelievably biased, so much that any facts were overwhelmed. “Toy Soldier Guard”, “Anti-Obama squad”, really? There is no need for this nonsense in objective reporting.

• KAC May 6th, 2015 at 5:57 pm

The
phrases you noticed are result of “vandalism” when someone edited the article this
afternoon. Looks like it has been fixed.

• Red Mann May 6th, 2015 at 6:03 pm

I read it minutes before I commented. We on the left already have the truth and reason on our side, so this kind of stuff is detrimental. I see that it has been fixed in the last 20 minutes.

• Maxx44 May 5th, 2015 at 12:13 pm

22 states have a defense force that reports to the governor. Here in Georgia, we have the Georgia State Defense Force. It is under the state DOD just as the National Guard and the Air National Guard. The GSDF is unarmed.

6. Suzanne McFly May 5th, 2015 at 3:20 pm

They claim to love the troops but then they suspect the troops are coming to takeover their towns and states? Have the troops been given lobotomies? Is President Obama sending orders to the troops through telepathic messages? I would love to be a fly on the wall in the White House, I can almost hear the President saying…”come here Michelle, you gotta read this shit.” lol

7. tracey marie May 5th, 2015 at 6:29 pm

I thought alex and the rest of his nut jobs said the military are patriots, now he is saying they will kill patriots. I just can’t keep up with all these announcements of “truths”

8. labman57 May 5th, 2015 at 10:09 pm

Republican politicians from Texas and the southern Bible Belt have put the KKK in Krazy.

• bobby1122 May 6th, 2015 at 9:08 pm

KKK was founded by southern DEMOCRATS and even in 1960’s would not vote for the Civil rights act.

• labman57 May 6th, 2015 at 9:31 pm

There has been a 180 degree role reversal since Lincoln’s time with respect to the association of progressive vs. conservative principles and political views between the two major parties in America. Much of this ideological shifting occurred during the aftermath of the passage of the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960’s.

Bottom line: the socio-political ideologies of the ‘Lincoln/Reconstruction eras’ Democrat conservatives were similar to those within the GOP today.

• Obewon May 6th, 2015 at 9:55 pm

Conservative racists founded, funded and still support the Klan.
