Dobson also says if the Supreme Court approves gay marriage, “textbooks will have to be rewritten and re-illustrated.”

Dobson warned that legalizing gay marriage would undermine and weaken the family and tear this nation apart because “it will divide us further and the implications of it are breathtaking.”

Among the implications about which Dobson is particularly worried is the fact that parents will supposedly no longer be able to teach their children that homosexuality is a sin because public schools will be teaching the opposite.

“It has implications for the school. Textbooks are going to have to be re-written and re-illustrated to comply with the law,” he warned. “It reaches every corner, every dimension of society. We are talking about the death knell of religious liberty in America”

These are the same idiots who claim America is the best country in the world because of how strong and diverse we are. And yet, they can claim that we will be destroyed when two adults marry? How are we strong and what happened to our strength of diversity?

Funny, because I think it IS religious liberty.

      That’s exactly what it is
      Well said

So religious liberty is being able to hate on other people, be able to force your religion on others?

    That’s sick and twisted

I believer that screwing around is 1 way to undermine and weaken a marriage but maybe he should check with Jerry and other pastors on this.

What a lying ass bst*rd! Gay persons getting married won’t do anything to traditional families. If Dobson and others like him are so upset that gay persons marrying each other will negatively impact their families, I think they must have some weak ass families to begin with.

I was part of textbook selection committees when I taught high school. I just retired in 2009, so I know how schools select textbooks. As for his claim that textbooks would have to be rewritten, he’s lying, again. Most states only adopt textbooks every seven years because purchasing textbooks is expensive. The major textbooks that would be affected are high school sociology, ethnic studies, psychology, civics, and U.S. history textbooks, and the change would come in the form of a few paragraphs mentioning that the Supreme Ct. ruled in favor of gay marriage in June 2015. The psychology and sociology textbooks might contain just a little more information than the others.

The 1950s must have been one freaky boys club.

That generation of men, like James Dobson and John McCain, are so fixated on homosexuality.

What the hell happened back then?

False projectionist Fred Koch’s John Birch Society xenophobes hated everyone, calling Eisenhower a communist while building 13 oil refineries for Soviet Dictator Stalin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyCEexG9xjw

Why do they put a question mark at the end of a declarative sentence?

If grammatically incorrect memes bother you, for God’s sake don’t ever go to 9Gag…

I’d like to read El Martyachi’s answer to my question.

          • Hirightnow May 8th, 2015 at 9:54 am

Maybe it was supposed to be rhetorical?

          • burqa May 8th, 2015 at 10:22 am

            Hmmm. Could be.
In that case it’s not a question at all, but a statement.
I’ve found in negotiations and in political discussions that it can take a long time to persuade someone to agree with you. Usually it requires a considerable amount of patience and forbearance as the other person moves step by step in one’s direction. They just won’t change completely right off the bat.
So this small step, in which El Martyachi concedes that gays may marry, can be considered progress. Now we just need to bring El Martyachi around to understanding that gay men typically would prefer to marry gay men and not gay women. The same is true with gay women – they typically would prefer to marry another woman and not a gay man.
Surte, it’ll take time, but getting El Martyachi this far is reason to celebrate, at least a little…..

the fact that this mealy thing and his idiot beliefs exist is breathtaking.

OP: “Dobson also says if the Supreme Court approves gay marriage, “textbooks will have to be rewritten and re-illustrated.””

And that means JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! ofr illustrators, writers, publishers and distributors of textbooks!
Looks like a win-win to me.

If gay marriage will destroy our country, we were already in the handbasket rushing pell mell toward hell.
