NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will suspend Tom Brady next week according to Gary Myers in the New York Daily News.

Roger Goodell’s decision is expected to be announced next week and it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him.

In conversations I’ve had with several key sources who always have a good sense of what goes on at 345 Park Avenue, there is little doubt Goodell considers Brady’s role in DeflateGate a serious violation.

The NFL is convinced, according to sources, that connecting all the dots of the evidence supplied by Wells leads to one conclusion:

Once again, we ask that same question: “Who cares”
And once again, we get that same old answer, “Who cares?”

As I have said before, I am quite sick of hearing about it. Based on the news, the world came to a standstill while we waited for Brady to react in public.

Just a smug, arrogant prick this one.
So much for good sportsmanship and being a role model…esp. to his own kids…tsk tsk.

Suspend him for the entire season — or, better yet, steal an idea from comedian Andy Borowitz, remove him from the New York Deflatriots, and force him to play for the New York Jets.

And fine the Delfatriots a minimum of $2,500,000.

That should get the message across.

………………………..and make-em play with only 10 players on the field for the first half of the season…………………………………….. and I get Giselle…..

Will the Pat’s be returning the Super Bowl trophy, returning their winnings & rings, barred from playoff contention for 5 or so years, put last in draft picks for 5 years, forfeit their cut of the teevee revenue, Brady barred from Hall of Frame forever?

    No?

Didn’t think so. No consequences for the Über Caste.

I’ve made it about halfway through the Wells report (currently on page 121) and the report is pretty damning. Lots of contradictions between Jastremski, McNally, and Brady that implicate their involvement in not just deflating footballs in the AFCCG, but during a Jets game during the regular season. I also find it telling that after the Chiefs embarrassed the Patriots in prime time and made them look pedestrian, they “magically” turned things around to not only get HFA, but their ticket to another Super Bowl which is tainted. And the worst thing is, fans of the Patriots* act like it’s a BIG conspiracy by the league to get their team, despite the Patriots getting caught and fined in Spygate and the BS Tuck Rule which helped the Patriots win over the Raiders. There’s rules for the NFL, and there’s rules for the Patriots,* which is quite unfortunate.

The National Football League should merge with the World Wrestling Federation as they are both national jokes and have moved past sport into the entertainment business exclusively.
Brady is a national embarrassment and an arrogant smiling prick. F him with extreme prejudice.

I am sick to death of this team. Sicker of their idiot fans. They cheat, push limits and leave a trail of slime behind them. I would like to see Brady out ALL season. This was not just some Sunday game- it was a playoff game for the Super Bowl- and if they hadn’t done this childish stunt they might not have been there. I love New England- it’s one of my favorite parts of America. The Pats just stink it up and it’s time these laughing bozos get consequences.

I’d add the whining about the League being out to get them when they shouldn’t have played in the Super bowl at all, but nooooooo, the NFL kept putting it off so they could hang on to their ill-gotten loot and then the NFL put it offf some more so they could get all their draft picks.
I was thinking 2 games and a #6 pick, but what with the way they’re still lying, showing no contrition, much less giving any sign of mending their ways, the NFL needs to smack some sense into them so hard they figure out how to act when you’ve been caught cheating.
If they don’t, the Pats will see a minor fine as just the cost of doing business and will continue to do it.

Speaking of football, it will be interesting to see what happens when the movie, Concussion comes out about Mike Webster and Bennet Omalu, (played by Will Smith), the forensic pathologist and neuropathologist who discovered chronic traumatic encephalopathy in Webster, and then in many others.
    Albert Brooks plays Cyril Wecht.

The Pirates pulled off a rare 4-5-4 triple play versus the Cardinals, of all teams.

Bryce Harper (he of the reverse mullet) of my Nats hit a 2-run walk-off ding-dong in the bottom of the ninth for the win over the hated Braves. Looked to me as if the Braves pitcher hung a slider. That’s 6 taters in 3 games for Harper. Pissed me off, I nearly went to the game.
Sunday it looks like Wood versus Zimmerman to close the series. That one looks mighty attractive. I want to see Scherzer, but with Harper on this tear……
