The wack jobs on the right, including the governor of Texas, think military exercises in Texas is part of a plan by President Obama to invade the state. James F. McGrath has aggregated all the issues that might have people running either from, or to, Texas.

Greg Carey made this image and shared it on Twitter, and a lot of people have found it entertaining. And so I thought I would share it on the blog for more people to enjoy.

There is actually serious irony to several of the arrows. Climate scientists invading from Alabama? Evolutionists from Kansas? I suppose the anti-gay legislation in Arizona might motivate gays to begin an exodus – but why would they head for Texas rather than California?

Perhaps something similar could be said of all these groups – people who accept mainstream science might have good reason Alabama and Kansas. In which case, perhaps Texas is going to be confronting less of an invasion and more of a refugee crisis.

    There is simply not enough tin foil available in the world to meet the needs of the growing droves of conspiracy theorists that make the Republican Party their home.

    Gee, thanks for the map, we all will be watching for the ISIS armada to arrive by sea in jetskis, no doubt.
    Little do these dolts know, but the real invasion will occur when they are fixated upon the military convoys and choppers overhead…
    Legions of minivans, loaded with pod people will flood every fast food restaurant, mall, convenience store, pizza parlor, and beer joint..Texas will be toast within an hour.

    From TPM;

    Anti-Islam Group: Texas Takeover Distracting From Sharia Law Threat

    So basically they are complaining that government haters are getting in the way of the Muslim haters.

    OR…

    That YOUR phony manufactured crisis is getting in the way of OUR phony manufactured crisis.

    Note to the gov. of Texas: Sir, there are 7 air force bases, 8 army bases, one army air field, and 3 naval air stations in your state. It was “invaded” quite a few years ago. You can look it up.

  9. wagnerfilm May 9th, 2015 at 8:19 pm

    Pretty sure a country can’t invade itself. Of course, you’d have to be 1) educated and 2) not insane to know that, which rules out every Texas Republican alive.

    One thing that seems consistent with the conspiracy nuts is that there is some secret plot by the government, so serious that they are eliminating those in the know, and yet some yutz from the internet knows ALL about it. And posts it online. And yet doesn’t see that the fact that he is still breathing undercuts his argument. Kinda like Obama is rounding up all the dissidents and gun-owners to put them in FEMA camps, but somehow misses those who are “exposing” it… like Lush Limbaugh. You would think an Evil Dictator would shut his fat ass up right away.

    Forget our military, the right wing knows it has over-extended, over-exercised and neglected that poor beast nigh unto death.

    It’s that Army of the Climate Scientists that sounds scary, the evolutionists’ Evolutionary Forces really are intimidating, those Militant Gays and Immigrant Hordes attacking from the west would make any decent right wing wingnut shiver, but it’s those gosh darted foreigners — the sneaky Messicans and bloody ISIS allies of Obama who have them crapping in their drawers.
