Lawyer: Engineer Has ‘No Recollection Of Crash’

The lawyer for the Amtrak engineer responsible for the train crash says his client has “no recollection” of the crash.
Robert Goggin, [Brandon] Bostian’s attorney, told ABC News his client has “no recollection” of the crash.
“He remembers driving the train. He remembers going to that area generally, [but] has absolutely no recollection of the incident or anything unusual. The next thing he recalls is being thrown around, coming to, finding his bag, getting his cellphone and dialing 911,” Goggin told ABC News.
Goggin says Bostian voluntarily turned over a blood sample and his cellphone.
“I asked him if he had any medical issues,” he told ABC News. “He said he had none. He’s on no medications … He has no health issues to speak of and just has no explanation.”
Goggin stated Bostian was later “distraught” after learning the details of what happened.

Sounds like ‘driver fatigue’. If you go without enough sleep/rest you “fuzz out” on your feet. I will be interested in learning his last day or two of work/rest.

i have no idea why you need to lawyer up if you did nothing wrong

however i would think its harder to convince you can make turns at 100mph ? i don’t think this would work on most highways. also looks like the brakes were working too

Frankly, in a situation like this, with multiple fatalities, only a fool would not retain the services of an attorney. And smart people keep their mouths shut UNTIL there is a lawyer present. There have been MANY falsely convicted. Usually because of lack of counsel.

it could be just me but i think the fix is in for this dude unless he’s alot smarter then the electronic recording devise in the locomotive
Quite frankly i would have saved the lawyer cash so i wouldn’t have less when the pink slip arrives

Well I guess one more person in the engineer’s compartment wouldn’t have helped here, Since the railroad deliberately decided against installing that automatic device, with the already allotted funds..

Please, provide corroboration for that claim. I’ve been in auto accidents, and once it was my fault. So right there I disprove the absolute “never” in your claim. Please show where there is actual evidence to support your absolutism. Otherwise, it just looks like more crap from the Twig.
