Bryan Fischer says states should ignore the Supreme Court if it legalizes gay marriage and believes it will lead to violence.

Declaring that states “have every moral and legal right to ignore the federal government,” Fischer said that such a step was necessary to save America from tyranny and social chaos.

“The Supreme Court can be slapped down through a deliberative and representative process,” he said, “rather than through chaos and civil unrest which I and a lot of other pro-family leaders fear is the alternative. If the Supreme Court continues to overreach and they aren’t checked, we are headed towards civil unrest, I don’t think there is any other way around it. If it’s not stopped and reversed, the tyrannical overreach of the Supreme Court, we are to have social dislocation and I believe we are going to have violence as a result. And that is simply because freedom is too deeply ingrained in the DNA of the American people to permit tyranny to continue unchecked forever.”

    Fischer apparently is unaware of the lessons from the Civl War.

    But, then, he’s always been unencumbered by the thought process.

      And Lincoln did that with simple cannons.

    Conservative SCOTUS already legalized equal marriage in 2014 upholding the 10th and 14th amendments. 58% Approve. The closeted 34% opposed, remain Constitutionally illiterate.

      That 80% statistic explains a lot.

    freedom to deny EQUAL RIGHTS to ALL Americans – or else?

    I’ll go with EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL.

    I just never have taken to threats from THUGS – even the ‘religious’ ones.

  8. Hirightnow May 16th, 2015 at 6:27 am

    Wait…I thought only “thugs” caused civil unrest when they didn’t like how the government was treating them?

  9. OldLefty May 16th, 2015 at 7:19 am

    Is he hoping?

    Remember;

    After Brian Gene Nichols …. 3 Slain in Atlanta Courthouse Rampage
    Judge, 2 Others Gunned Down; Rape Defendant Escapes in the Fulton County courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia on March 11, 2005 in which he murdered the judge presiding over his trial.)

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28346-2005Mar11.html/

    And the murder of the husband and mother of U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow
    http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-16495765/

    Then the GOP started haveing “Justice Sunday”? (Over Terri Schivo)

    John Cornyn ;

    “I don’t know if there is a cause-and-effect connection, but we have seen some recent episodes of courthouse violence in this country…And I wonder whether there may be some connection between the perception in some quarters, on some occasions, where
    judges are making political decisions yet are unaccountable to the public, that
    it builds up and builds up and builds up to the point where some people engage
    in, engage in violence.”

    And…

    Tom Delay;

    “The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior, but not today.”

    Call me cynical but I bet that while at the time Brian Gene Nichols was included in what they were trying to portray as just a matter of people being pushed beyond their breaking points by out of control, unaccountable judges, but if it were to have happened now, Brian Gene Nichols would be one of the hordes of out of control thugs unleashed by Obama. ( Brian Gene Nichols is black, you see.)

    Okay, he thinks he can b!tch slap the Justices on the Supreme Court for allowing true equality for the LGBT community when it comes to marriage. What is he going to do about the majority of the population that supports the decision?

  11. Um Cara May 16th, 2015 at 10:08 am

    And that is simply because freedom is too deeply ingrained in the DNA of the American people to permit tyranny to continue unchecked forever.
    It is pretty tortured logic to say that granting the same rights/responsibilities to same sex marriages = anti-freedom.

    I always roll my eyes any time I hear a conservative say anything about freedom. These are people who are all about controlling you. They want to use the government to force Christian morals on society. Then they turn around and say they want government regulation out of our lives. In short, they want the law to tell you how to live and the businesses to own you. That is the very opposite of freedom.
