Marco Rubio tried to avoid answering whether he’d have invaded Iraq knowing what we know now when questioned by Chris Wallace.

Wallace repeatedly asked Rubio whether he would have invaded Iraq knowing what he knows now, and Rubio continued to answer according to the intelligence available in 2002. They went around this loop about half a dozen times.

“It was not a mistake for the president to have invaded Iraq based on the intelligence he was presented,” Rubio said, a virtual repetition of the oopsy-daisy his state-mate Jeb Bush made during an interview with Megyn Kelly last weekend, jumpstarting this whole thing.

“Presidents don’t have the benefit of hindsight,” Rubio finally said. “You have to make difficult decisions based on the information that’s before you at that moment.”

GOP “Presidents don’t have the benefit of hindsight” or foresight, Rubio’s dim candidacy aims to not intimidate his uninformed GOP TV lemmings. Ask him why he’s a scientific illiterate Koch Oil & Coal lover! ‘97% of climate scientists agree modern global warming is caused by human burning fossil fuels, 20% caused by human deforestation’-NASA, NOAA, UK MET, et al http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

      Thanks for showing the chart.
It tells a horrible story of the impact of our industrial age and our destructive corporate selfishness.

Thanks! Rube’s Florida sinks with decreasing levels of climate denial, echoed by the declining remaining 1/4 of American GOP dinosaurs.
GOP like to pretend they’re more intelligent than NASA, NOAA, the Global and American Scientific Societies. http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

That quote cannot be shown enough.

Look at the young man tap dance and pirouette.
Aside from the fact that he’s on Faux Snooze with Wallace who always give republicans a huge pass, he sure didn’t learn a thing from Jeb’s terrible week answering the same damn question.
    What a Dufuss!

  3. Anomaly 100 May 17th, 2015 at 4:49 pm

Sooo, he said the same thing Jeb did regarding ‘hindsight’.

    • Suzanne McFly May 17th, 2015 at 7:10 pm

That should of been a softball question and if rubio had a brain cell, it would of been.

Marco seems to be unaware of the old adage — those who refuse to learn from the mistakes of the past …
Of course, the first step must be to actually acknowledge that mistakes were made.

So Wallace intentionally tosses a series of hanging curve balls … and Rubio manages to whiff each one.
    You’re outta here!

…whether he would have invaded Iraq knowing what he knows now,
    “knowing what he knows now”
Easily the most loaded question of this decade.

  9. StoneyCurtisll May 17th, 2015 at 6:24 pm

Rubio said, ‘the world is a better place without Saddam Hussein”..
Iraq is such a wonderful place now without him..

Does he know bush wasn’t in office when he was killed? All these idiots probably think Reagan was President at the time.

  10. Suzanne McFly May 17th, 2015 at 7:08 pm

Pretty bad when any entire party leadership is stumped by the phrase “what we now know”.

  11. bpollen May 18th, 2015 at 5:22 am

It was not a mistake for the president to have invaded Iraq based on the intelligence he was presented…”

But, Mr. Rubio, the intelligence he was presented wasn’t the intelligence he based his rationale on. THAT intelligence was filtered, massaged, and outright made up. To fit a predetermined plan of action.

Does anyone remember the “let’s not call french fries french fries” assholes (as if that was really going to seriously injure the country)? Europe new better than to believe that lie.

That’s why I call Tater “pomme frites.”
