Josh Duggar has resigned from the right-wing, pro-family Family Research Council following revelations that he molested underage girls, including his own sisters.

In Touch magazine first published details from the 2006 police report that showed that when Duggar was 14 he confessed to his father that he had sexually molesting five young girls. But Jim Bob waited more than a year before alerting the police and his since tried to keep the felony investigation out of the public eye.

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends,” the now 27-year-old Josh Duggar told Peoplemagazine in a statement Thursday. “I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

TMZ reports that among those Duggar is accused of molesting are his own sisters.

A true tragedy. But it alway seems those most strident about their “values” have very little.

Here’s hoping that this family takes it down a notch beating their chests about their “values” and practice a more humble and authentic Christianity.

A tragedy? A crime!!! The whole family should be jailed! I really hate these holier-than-thou “Christians” who feel free to cast aspersions on others, but yet use the “God has forgiven me” excuse when it comes to their own disgusting actions.

Is that the Duggars with the Palins? Why, it’s a Family Values parade!

These family’s represent the best of these types of “Christians”.

The ugly reality — these self-righteous Christian conservatives readily forgive and show compassion toward their family members who are (heterosexual) child molesters, yet they completely reject and condemn blood relations who dare to come out of the closet.

Here is the deal for me. I don’t want to hear any right wingers complaining that this is just one guy and it is unfair to judge all of you, especially evangelicals based on this one individual’s actions

I understand that we are all human and we all make mistakes, although molesting underage girls is something more than just a mistake. But it is your self-righteous hypocrisy that only those who pray and vote the same way you do are truly moral people. You parade around these charlatans like Duggar as some sort of example. You put him in a position of influence in an organization that has the direct ear of several members of Congress as well as national media. You insist that we should all be governed by the beliefs shared by this f*cking child molester while my pagan, ordained wiccan miinster wife is someone who if you guys ran things would be ostracized to the fringes of society and prohibited from ever leading a public invocation on government property.

You shove schizophrenic deviants like this guy in our faces as some kind of role model for us all without ever considering the possibility that those who do not pray to Jesus are just as moral, if not more so, than your so-called role-models. Clearly, that is the case here.

I see no Christian love in right wing evangelicals. I see Sarah Palin who has nothing but ugliness for anyone who dares to think differently than she does. I see the hypocritical embrace of draft dodging pedophiles like Ted Nugent. Ted hates all the right people, so welcome aboard.

I see the latest pedophile telling us all that god has forgiven him, so everything is ok. No everything is not ok a$$hole, I just spoke to god and she says you are in a world of sh*t.
