TLC Pulls Duggar Show

“19 Kids and Counting” has been pulled from the TLC schedule.
Multiple websites have been reporting that upcoming planned airings of the show about the Duggar clan have been indefinitely scrapped, which may not be the best sign for the show’s future at the network.
Duggar’s parents put out a statement yesterday saying, “When Josh was a young teenager, he made some very bad mistakes, and we were shocked. We had tried to teach him right from wrong. That dark and difficult time caused us to seek God like never before.”

Never, ever in my life have I looked upon molestation as a mistake…I truly don’t know anyone who thinks that either.
Whether done by a teen or adult…it is a premeditated act…you just don’t wake up one morning and say, “Today’s the day!”
Josh may be a victim of molestation himself and acted out his aggression as was done to him, I don’t know….it’s still doesn’t make it right.
His parents intentionally dropped the ball by waiting till the statute of limitations expired to turn him in…they should be held legally culpable.
One has to wonder also, what type of “counseling” his sisters and the other girls received…was it blame based?
Sure as hell hope not.
This whole damned thing makes me ill.

As for the tv show…thank God and Greyhound they’re gone!

When you have so many children that you can’t watch what all of then are doing, who’s fault is it if one or more step over the line?

As parents they took advantage of the older sibs to raise the younger ones….that there alone is a form of neglect in my book.
It is not their responsibility.

A “mistake” is adding 3+3 and coming up with 5. What he did was not a mistake, there’s gotta be some kind of punishment here, yanking the show from tv is not punishment.

Parading themselves as wholesome and moral while letting the kid get away with a sex crime, should be enough to lose their little cash cow tv show permanently.

Well, isn’t that nice. They “sought god like never before.” Could they have done something more, shall we say, effective in curbing their son’s behavior? Just sending him away cures, as if there is one, sonny’s slightly unchristian desires? I just love the logic of fundies like these. Of course where they are in the far out religious right their is no such thing as logic. Just belief in the damnedest things.

Shame on TLC for putting this and other ridiculous shows on in the first place. I notice the line up on my satellite channels and it’s either re-re-re runs or really sorry crapola for shows. That and WAY to many religious shows and shopping networks.

Let’s hope that the ban is permanent, AND TLC sues the Duggars for this disaster.
