It sounds like someone wants a theocracy in the United States.

…Huckabee insisted on Sunday that the president of the United States would not have to follow a ruling that struck down bans on same-sex marriage because the Supreme Court was not the “Supreme Being.”

“You seemed to indicate that as president, you wouldn’t necessarily obey court rulings, even the Supreme Court,” Fox News host Chris Wallace pointed out during an interview on Sunday. “We have operated under the principle of judicial review since the Marbury v. Madison case in 1803.”

…According to the GOP candidate, the United States would be operating under “judicial supremacy” instead of judicial review if bans on same-sex marriage were to be struck down.

“Presidents have understood that the Supreme Court cannot make a law, they cannot make it, the legislature has to make it, the executive branch has to sign it and enforce it,” Huckabee said. “And the notion that the Supreme Court comes up with the ruling and that automatically subjects the two other branches to following it defies everything there is about the three equal branches of government.”

“The Supreme Court is not the supreme branch,” he added. “And for God’s sake, it’s not the Supreme Being.”

“President Should Obey ‘Supreme Being’ More Than Supreme Court”
    _________

    That’s what ISIS says too.
    Funny, huh??

    • Maxx44 May 24th, 2015 at 12:43 pm

I would ‘up vote’ this one more if I could!

      • OldLefty May 24th, 2015 at 12:44 pm

The similarities are striking, aren’t they.

        • granpa.usthai May 25th, 2015 at 12:32 am

not all much. As governor of Arkansas, there were times when he obeyed the courts of Arkansas FIRST.

          but ISIS never did.

          • OldLefty May 25th, 2015 at 6:11 am

            1) That is because we still have the wall of separation, which is the only thing that stands in the way.
            2) How do you know ISIS never did?
I suspect that when ISIS takes over, THEY compose the courts, THEN they obey themselves.
That is, I suspect what Huckabee would do if he could.

      • granpa.usthai May 25th, 2015 at 12:30 am

got you covered, please accept my up vote as another one from you too.

  2. Maxx44 May 24th, 2015 at 12:45 pm

Whose ‘Supreme Being’ trumps the other? Maybe we should ask for a “Supreme Being’ smack-down to see who comes out on top. I think Budda will need to go to a weight management class beforehand.

    • granpa.usthai May 25th, 2015 at 12:35 am

WHY does the Huckster want to become the president?

    • liberalMD May 25th, 2015 at 2:23 am

To convert us all to Christianity. We have failed to accept the doctrine of Christianity by blind faith, so if he becomes president he can influence legislation so that this country will resemble a branch of Vatican City. Should he become president, we will need to purge society of gays, adulterers, people who don’t go to church six times a day and people who don’t denounce evolution and embrace creationism. We will, however, all have three hots and a cot, as he will turn our basis of government into a tome similar to the Bible, and anything a person might do which is “un-Christian” will land them in prison. Anticipate the return of many of those punishments and mannerisms considered cruel and unusual by today’s standards. He’s going to make the United States a Christian nation, like it or not!

      • whatthe46 May 25th, 2015 at 4:27 am

“Should he become president, we will need to purge society of gays, adulterers, people who don’t go to church six times a day and people who don’t denounce evolution and embrace creationism.” then that would mean, he’s so fk’d! ms. long neck, thinks that we should invade israel and convert them.

      • allison1050 May 25th, 2015 at 6:17 am

        smiles

  18. oldfart May 24th, 2015 at 6:06 pm

  19. alpacadaddy May 24th, 2015 at 7:41 pm

And of course, the “Chosen One” would interpret the Supreme Being’s wishes for the masses, right Huckster? … and that would be you I suppose? (friggin’ scary thought!)

Back to the Dark Ages we go!!!

    • William May 25th, 2015 at 12:35 am

      Exactly

  20. labman57 May 24th, 2015 at 8:26 pm

    The Ayatollah Huckabee has spoken.

  21. granpa.usthai May 25th, 2015 at 12:11 am

Sounds to me like the Huckster is attempting to get ‘God’s people’ to help him get God made a Kriminal by US Law?

it’s almost as if he wants his ‘God’ to remain in hiding?

  22. craig7120 May 25th, 2015 at 6:34 am

    Thata boy
Give Mr Huckabee enough press and he won’t disappoint. Theocracy is what the United States needs, not democracy. He, Mr Huckabee, hates us because of our freedom.

    Nehemia Scudder.

  24. StoneyCurtisll May 25th, 2015 at 7:44 am

I do not believe that Huckabee really wants to be president..
What he really would like is to be the supreme leader, (Ayatollah) who rules by edict and has the final say based on his personal religious interpretations.

    • KillAllTheRednecks . May 25th, 2015 at 9:25 am

Of course Hucksterbee knows he has a snowball’s chance at becoming President. NONE of the current GOP contenders think they can win. This is all just a money racket they are doing to grab donations and get publicity.

  25. KillAllTheRednecks . May 25th, 2015 at 9:24 am

What does Hucksterbee’s “supreme being” say about destroying evidence to thwart an investigation of child molestation?
