According to the police report, the Duggars discipline by spanking their children with a rod.

In a police interview with an unnamed Duggar child, the child admits to an investigator that the Duggar parents spank their children, and that “they have a rod.” Here’s the summary of that conversation from the police report, which was redacted by InTouch:

Inv. Taylor asked [redacted] about getting spanked. [redacted] said that when [redacted] is bad that [redacted] mother and dad spank [redacted]. Inv. Taylor asked what they use to spank. [redacted] said they have a rod. Inv. Taylor asked if they do this to all the kids and [redacted] said yes. Inv. Taylor asked if they leave any bruising [redacted] said no.

Perhaps spanking children with a rod is what Jesus would do? It’s hard to say, because although Jim Bob and Michelle have been vocal about how they raise and homeschool their children, they’ve never publicly admitted to administering corporal punishment.

god these people are despicable. Maybe if they knew the first thing about raising kids they would not have to beat them. Well one things is for sure he knows how to knock her up. Maybe they were beaten cause they did not comply to Josh’s needs

“Spare the rod, spoil the child”. Beating your children is biblical at least. And it’s ‘tradition’ as well. In fact, a recalcitrant child can be killed.

Proverbs 13:24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children,

Aren’t they in enough trouble due to a “rod”?

No news here. Michelle Duggar advocates for

“…blanket training. She used flexible rulers and talked about luring the
baby off of the blanket and then swatting them with the ruler when they
    took the bait
. The purpose was so that mom could visit with friends,
have a phone conversation or go visiting and baby would stay put and
    quiet .”

    Child abuse? You decide.
