When then-Congressman Mark Foley was discovered to have sent sexually explicit messages to at least one underage congressional page, then-Speaker Denny Hastert went on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show to blame liberals and the victims.
…this is a political issue in itself, too, and what we’ve tried to do as the Republican Party is make a better economy, protect this country against terrorism — and we’ve worked at it ever since 9/11, worked with the president on it — and there are some people that try to tear us down. We are the insulation to protect this country, and if they get to me it looks like they could affect our election as well.
The good Republicans are busy protecting America while horrible people just want to tear them down. Liberals just used victims of a sexual predator to get to Denny Hastert who loves America more than they do.

GOP/TPers ignore the lying and hypocrisy within their ranks because if they acknowledged it, it would cause them to have to seek psychiatric treatment, which is why when incidents like this one and the one involving the Duggars become public, they go into either protective or silent mode. They cannot deal with discovering that those they’ve placed on pedestals have feet of clay.

Being a closet gay is not a crime – no matter how hypocritical that person has been or continues to be untrue to themselves – sexual abuse of a minor or even adult sexual abuse is a crime – More important than anything else the man is a sexual predator – there is probably allot more victims.
