Laughable from a guy who changed his last name from Weiner to Savage and who also hung around with many well known gays in the San Francisco area like Allen Ginsberg who he was VERY, and I say VERY chummy with. They were inseparable. Traveling to exotic climes in the South Pacific they would spend all day naked together swimming and lazing about on the warm, romantic beaches. He defends this by saying that back then, in the South Pacific everyone swam naked. This is simply not true. Even though some tourists did, it was not acceptable by the natives because the missionaries taught them modesty.
