Lindsey Graham was challenged on how pro-gun he is during a town hall meeting.

Graham told a town hall attendee today who suggested that he’s in favor of stricter gun control measures, that he’s a ‘staunch supporter of the Second Amendment ‘ with a voting record arsenal of firearms to prove it.

‘Check me out. Check my rating with the NRA. Come to my house, I will show you my AR-15,’ he said…

The South Carolina lawmaker was in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday trying to build support for his fledgling presidential campaign when he was confronted by a member of the Iowa Gun Owners association.

Asked why gun control advocate Michael Bloomberg donated $250,000 to his apolitical action committee last year during his bid to be re-elected to the U.S. Senate, Graham remarked: ‘I don’t know why he gave me money…I’m into addition, thank you for helping me.’

‘I am a enthusiastic hunter,’ ‘ he told the gentleman. ‘I own guns responsibly.

  1. jasperjava June 5th, 2015 at 10:18 pm

Many.of us have long suspected that Lindsay Graham was an ammosexual.

  2. StoneyCurtisll June 5th, 2015 at 10:19 pm

    It’s not Lindesy Graham’s guns I want to see…
I would like to see his life partner..
Male, female it doesn’t matter to me..
I just want to know who it is..

    • jasperjava June 5th, 2015 at 10:32 pm

      As a liberal, I don’t care.
      Live and let live.

But I would love to see the screeching right-wing freakout if Graham’s significant other was anything other than the standard expected heterosexual partnership .

      • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:46 pm

        Heavy chested blonde bimbo preferably.

  3. StoneyCurtisll June 5th, 2015 at 10:23 pm

Owning guns doesn’t make one a man..
Lots of ladies are gun owners…
Maybe Lindsey thinks guns makes him a stud.

  4. jasperjava June 5th, 2015 at 10:28 pm

    “I own guns responsibly.”

That’s not going to endear him to the gun nuts. They want the freedom to own guns irresponsibly.

Responsible gun ownership smacks of tyrannical librul gun control.

  5. robert June 5th, 2015 at 10:29 pm

is it the same ar-15 most viet nam vets hated ?

    • Mike June 5th, 2015 at 11:38 pm

ArmaLite sold the design to Colt who modified, redesigned, and renamed it the M-16.
Colt’s civilian semi automatic version is sold under the name AR-15 but I can assure you, it is nothing like an M-16.
For the record, I didn’t hate my M-16, others however, would disagree.

      • BigDumbWhiteGuy June 5th, 2015 at 11:47 pm

        I liked my M220E4 better.

        • Mike June 6th, 2015 at 8:22 am

Never had one in my hands….I did get to use the Thumper (M-79) quite a bit.

      • fahvel June 6th, 2015 at 2:54 am

yeah, about 50 thousand + would disagree.

        • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:11 pm

But its irrelevant 50 years later….

          • fahvel June 6th, 2015 at 2:00 pm

irrelevant?? you sick bstrd – if you think the deaths of all those who are rotting today after only 50 years is irrelevant, then you should bury what soul you have left in a jar of effluence.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 2:04 pm

Considering the rifle isn’t as bad as you are insinuating….

You seem to just enjoy stirring the pot…

      • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:44 pm

The only difference between the two is/are two or three small pieces in the trigger mechanism. The M-16 can shoot full auto and the R-15 can’t.

      • robert June 6th, 2015 at 10:17 pm

i couldn’t tell you how many articles ive read about the m16 and how useless it was if you got sand or mud anywhere near the firing mechanisms. However i wouldn’t be convinced until we put the ar-15 through the same test.

what do you say lindsey ?

  6. Mike June 5th, 2015 at 11:28 pm

Ah the mating rituals of ammosexuals….showing off their guns and coming together, one big giant simultaneous orgasm

  7. Bunya June 5th, 2015 at 11:39 pm

Wow! Look at the size of Lindsey’s gun! It’s HUGE! I guess if you’re brave enough to start a war and send others off to die in it, you should have something big to prove your manhood.

  8. BigDumbWhiteGuy June 5th, 2015 at 11:48 pm

Lindsey wants me to come to his house and show me his “AR-15.” Mmmhmm, suuureee.

    • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 12:29 pm

      C’mon, man!
He’ll let you grip that nice, smooth, warm black muzzle……

    • Jeb ==The Mexican Impregnator June 6th, 2015 at 10:08 pm

I would suspect that is a typical pickup line among ammosexuals .. come over and oil and rub gun barrels together.

  9. AnthonyLook June 6th, 2015 at 12:26 am

Candidate with a gun–IT’s BACK—It’s Republican clown car presidential primary mandatory litany of candidate PICTURE TIME—-with their choice of guns. More fake bravado to come.

  10. granpa.usthai June 6th, 2015 at 12:35 am

    woopie.

but speaking of people’s part two of the bill of rights,

it’s the RIGHT of any person(s) to keep and bear NUCLEAR ARMS!

it is unlawful for any government agency or other person(s) to try to infringe on your right to keep and bear NUCLEAR ARMS.

nice to know your LEGAL RIGHTS and spread the word around. Makes US a lot more free and friendly when you do.

  11. Anomaly 100 June 6th, 2015 at 6:04 am

Right, but that proves nothing. I have a gun and I’m all for gun regs.

    • rg9rts June 6th, 2015 at 6:27 am

I’ll behave but it is tempting

    • Mike June 6th, 2015 at 8:34 am

Ditto here, and I own a number of weapons.

      • Anomaly 100 June 6th, 2015 at 8:49 am

And a big high five to you!

    • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 12:23 pm

      Me too.
      And I’m all for Anomaly100 in general….

  12. rg9rts June 6th, 2015 at 6:26 am

Right….. we have to look at his limp weenie

  13. OldLefty June 6th, 2015 at 6:36 am

This is why Charlie Pierce calls him, “Senator Huckleberry J. Butchmeup”.

  14. allison1050 June 6th, 2015 at 7:05 am

“Check me out” sez the girl trying to prove how manly it is without the boyfriend around.

  15. Buford2k11 June 6th, 2015 at 8:37 am

Ms. Butchmeup forgets the saying “this is your weapon, and this is your gun, one is to kill, one is for fun”…Full Metal Jacket…..I don’t think Mr. Butchmeup has a gun….

  16. Suzanne McFly June 6th, 2015 at 9:10 am

That must be a common pick up line “come over to my house so I can show you my gun”, thankfully I never fell for it.

    • anothertoothpick June 6th, 2015 at 9:12 am

Lindsey’s marital status is single, but on the prowl.

      • Suzanne McFly June 6th, 2015 at 9:35 am

I don’t see his status changing with the use of that line.

      • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:40 pm

On the prowl, but for what?

      • tracey marie June 6th, 2015 at 4:30 pm

nonsense, he is waiting for marcus bachmann to leave michele. 🙂

    • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 12:13 pm

Hey, beh-beh, how do you like the grip on my pump action over and under shotgun?

  17. anothertoothpick June 6th, 2015 at 9:10 am

Look, guns are for killing things. Face it and fess up.

SO….. pray tell what sort of reasonable or sane definition of the word responsible applies to having a weapon whose sole purpose is to kill in your home, your car, or strapped to your belt?

    • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:06 pm

I have guns that weren’t made for killing so kinda disproves your point..

      • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 12:21 pm

Well what are they good for then, a doorstop?

        • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:53 pm

          competition….

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:20 pm

            What kind of competition?
It can kill something if it can shoot so you must have some other little game going on.
So what are you doing, playing whiffle ball with it?

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 2:30 pm

target competition or Olympic style shooting..whatever…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:49 pm

Kinda wacky to think a gun that will put a bullet into a target can’t kill anything…………but there you have it….

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:10 pm

            Didn’t say it couldn’t kill…it was “DESIGNED” to kill…

            reading comprehension…it’s important..

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 3:46 pm

            Distinction without a difference.
Ok, well you go ahead and try to get that gun on a plane past TSA*, telling them, “Oh no, nothing to worry about, it’s not DESIGNED to kill anything and see if they don’t take you into custody…

            * TSA – given the news lately, you might have to wave it around some and maybe rack the action on it a few times before they notice…..

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:47 pm

            Simple..declared and put in checked luggage..no issues…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 4:10 pm

            They’d steal it.
Couldn’t you do that with a firearm “designed” to kill?
C’mon, man, since this thing isn’t designed to kill, you could take it into a courtghouse or take the White House tour with it slung over one shoulder, right?
Just tell the Secret Service guys it’s not “designed” to kill and you’re in like Flynn……

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 4:13 pm

            nice try

      • anothertoothpick June 6th, 2015 at 12:46 pm

All’s your post proves is you don’t know the bottom line purpose of guns.

Which means you are not responsible enough to have them.

        • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:54 pm

Which means your ignorance of firearms is amazing…

      • William June 6th, 2015 at 1:20 pm

“I have guns that weren’t made for killing so kinda disproves your point”
        What guns would that be?
        if you please

        • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 1:20 pm

          S&W 41 for one

  18. burqa June 6th, 2015 at 12:08 pm

Notice Linthey doethn’t show his targets?
I have known Marine snipers almost all my life an other shooters who were very good and they ALL kept targets when they shot particularly well.
Of course if you can’t hit nuthin, you don’t.
And if you can’t hit anything, with aimed fire, you getcha one of these spray and pray weapons like the AR-15….

    • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:10 pm

So you are suggesting the AR-15 is inaccurate??

But yet in the pic of him shooting a “spray and pray” (thats funny) AR-15 he is actually aiming and NOT spraying….

      • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 12:18 pm

        He’s just posing.
If Linthey could hit anything he’d show his targets and those nice, tight groupings.

250 shots at 1,000 yards with an AR-15. How many you gonna put in a 10-inch ring, WolverinedeMexicano?

        • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:48 pm

I’ll have to dig out my record book but I have hit the 10″ ring often with one and can keep most of those 250 inside the 30″ ring….weather permitting…and no scope either…I’m sure the scope would help quite a bit.

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 1:03 pm

            At 1,000 yards?
Who is silly enough to shoot targets with an AR-15 at 1,000 yards?
Never mind, that question has already been answered….

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 1:05 pm

So you make a point…have it refuted and debunked …then you dismiss it…

            typical leftist attitude…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:19 pm

No, you’re the one who got snookered. You shoulda said from the beginning that shooting targets at 1,000 yards with an AR-15, especially one with no scope is ridiculous.
            Because it is.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 2:29 pm

Your contention was that it’s inaccurate..and it isn’t and you were wrong…

Why do you think it’s ridiculous? Because you can’t do it?

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:42 pm

            I wouldn’t even try.
Now if I had a Remington 700 Short Action, that’s a different story.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:11 pm

And the AR is just accurate if not more so…

          • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:35 pm

Only a fool would claim that.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:36 pm

You are saying an AR is not as accurate as 700SA..??

          • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:38 pm

Yes he is and he’s not the only one. Why do you think snipers don’t use AR-15s?

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:38 pm

            because they do use them…..

          • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:48 pm

Really? In what world is that? I’ve seen and read stories of and about snipers for years, not one has mentioned the M-16 nor have I seen a photo of one using that weapon.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:50 pm

            Hmm…

            SAM-R
            MK-11
            MK-12

that’s three versions in use or have been used..”recently”

          • Dwendt44 June 7th, 2015 at 1:17 pm

Army and Marine snipers are issued either or both a Remington M40 or the Barrett M82 rifle, plus a 9mm side arm.
There are ‘accurized’ M16 variants out there, used for match use, but not sniper use. Of course, in ‘ammosexual’ land, any rifle used LIKE a sniper would is considered a ‘sniper rifle’.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 7th, 2015 at 2:27 pm

You are stuck in the 90’s apparently…

Marines use M40A5s now and the Army uses the M24

M82s have been replaced with M107s.

The “accurized” M16s I listed above have all been used for combat use but the “accurized” ones for “match” use have NOT been in combat.

Marines are fielding the M-110 to their snipers.

You’re getting pretty far afield with your nonsense. An M-16 is a 5.56mm weapon. These distant cousins are not M-16s and, as they are 7.62, and/or .308, they only use parts of the lower section of the traditional M-16/AR-15. And even the lower section is largely altered for the larger ammunition.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 7th, 2015 at 3:32 pm

It’s ok you lost…. you could just say you were wrong and we could move on.

            But you got proven wrong.

          • Dwendt44 June 7th, 2015 at 3:38 pm

Only a self absorbed fool thinks he’s always right. I feel sorry for you and your fragile ego.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 7th, 2015 at 4:06 pm

          • CommanderofCobra June 6th, 2015 at 4:01 pm

            Yeah..you’re wrong….

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:53 pm

No, my contention was that if Linthey could shoot worth a damn he would be showing his targets. I don’t gamble, but if I did I’d be comfortable putting up a thousand you couldn’t get his targets from a day at the range.
He’s posing., hoping to be confused with a rootin’ tootin’ he-man.
What next, we’ll see him on a jobsite with his brand new leather tool belt swinging a 24 ounce Estwing?

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:13 pm

            My score cards say different…

          • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:37 pm

Burqa made no claim or statement if regards to the accuracy of an AR-15. He was talking about the shooter, who has trouble hitting his mouth with a mint gulep.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 3:39 pm

            His comment:
“And if you can’t hit anything, with aimed fire, you getcha one of these spray and pray weapons like the AR-15….”

suggesting it wasn’t an accurate weapon.

          • Dwendt44 June 6th, 2015 at 3:48 pm

Only to you. It still referred to the tool holding the rifle.

          • Robert Kennedy June 6th, 2015 at 9:59 pm

Perhaps with a WWII M-1 you could. They were insanely accurate at long distance, but an AR-15? Hah!

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 10:45 pm

An AR15 is more accurate than an M1…anyone who thinks otherwise is showing their ignorance in firearms…

    Soooooo?
You have met the strict approval criteria as set forth by the NRA.
    which is….

    Larry Craig and Ted Nugent
    Congrats

  20. labman57 June 6th, 2015 at 3:10 pm

No thanks, Lindsey. We’d rather you just keep it zipped — both above and below the belt.

  21. Robert Kennedy June 6th, 2015 at 9:57 pm

Lindsey was in the make believe service as a JAG officer. This is what real servicemen learn:

    This is my rifle,
    This is my gun,
    This one’s for fighting’
    This one’s for fun.
