CHICAGO — When Jim Cooley recently dropped off his daughter for a flight to O’Hare International Airport, he took a picture of them together and posted it — and now it’s gone viral. Cooley, 51, assumes it has to do with the AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifle slung over his shoulder and loaded with a 100-round ammunition…

If I had a small penis, I sure as hell wouldn’t advertise it like he does.

So happy I chose to travel through Charlotte last time.

Why do these people insist on carrying weapons in places where self defense is not an issue? I mean, isn’t that the number one reason the ammosexuals give for carrying their guns in the first place? It’s quite obvious self defense has nothing to do with it.

    • Jake106 June 5th, 2015 at 6:38 pm

They are just trying to make a point. I’m a strong advocate of the individual’s right to own and bear firearms of all kinds, but I would never do something like this. I believe in the right to own them, I see no need to waltz around and make everyone nervous with them. That’s just being an ahole. Similar to the people who went to the Draw Muhammad protest in Arizona openly carrying firearms. The protest ends up around a Mosque, and they wonder why people get upset. Jesus…let a group of angry Muslims protest outside your Church, some of them openly wearing firearms, and get back to me with that.

In Repo Man, Light used to carry a gun into dangerous areas because, as Bud said, “Ordinary people spend their time trying to avoiid bad situations, but Repo Man spends his time getting into bad situations….

    • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:08 pm

      Self defense isn’t an issue??

      • Larry Schmitt June 6th, 2015 at 12:18 pm

In an airport? I realize a very small number of well-publicized attacks have taken place in airports, the odds of needing to defend yourself there are infinitesimal. These people are not carrying weapons for defense, it’s a way of getting attention.

        • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:49 pm

So you are saying there are some places where you don’t have the right to self defense?

          • Larry Schmitt June 6th, 2015 at 12:56 pm

No, you didn’t read that in my comment. I’m saying it’s not necessary. If I’m in an airport and I see someone carrying a huge gun, I would probably get nervous. It’s legal to carry a gun in lots of places, but why? As I said, their claim that it’s for self defense is bogus when they carry their weapons in places that an attack is extremely unlikely.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 12:58 pm

So if it’s only a small chance of an attack happening you shouldn’t be armed…

            like in this situation…

With the safety lock in place, any ‘self defense’ moves would likely be to late to do any good. And with a 100 round magazine, he’s more of a danger to the public than any real criminal would be.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 4:15 pm

            What safety lock in place??

            You are speculating again…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 1:21 pm

Not at the bigass gun show they have where I live!
Nosirree, they have mighty strict rules against carrying any loaded weapons.
Last year some ninny didn’t follow the rule and had an accidental discharge, right there in the Fredericksburg Va. Expo Center.

And don’t you dare go and try and pull an Angela Davis down at the courthouse. You gotta go through a metal detector and everything.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 1:26 pm

            Yup and they are posted…….

            the airport wasnt’t…

            one place its legal..one it’s not…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 1:34 pm

Yeah, and they’re gonna post you if you get out of line and have some silly idea that you have the right to self defense.
All they gotta do is put up a little paper sing and POOF! just like that your Second Amendment rights go up in smoke.

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 1:37 pm

Only in that building….which I don’t have to go in….

            Isn’t “choice” great….

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 1:56 pm

We’d all be toasting the Queen if the Founding Fathers were the lily-livered cowards you see today who just need a little white piece of paper in the window to surrender their Second Amendment rights.

They didn’t lay down and spread their legs when the redcoats came for their guns to take away those rights!

HELL NO! those were real MEN BACK THEN!

THIS BUNCHA POOFS WE HAVE NOW WOULD BE CRAPPY MINUTEMEN, THAT’S FOR SURE!
THEIR RALLYING CRY WOULD SOUND LIKE:

            BAWWWK BOK-BOK-BOK BAAAWWK!

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 2:01 pm

They didn’t surrender them..they are respect that stores policy of not wanting guns in there…and being nice about it…

but hey..what ever makes you feel good… you need something since I busted you good on the ar15 issue…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:03 pm

Oh no, they just tippy-toed outta there, “Go ahead and take away my rights, Mr. Gun-Grabber. Sorry to bother you. If you want to further restrict my rights I won’t put up any fight!

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 2:05 pm

lol..fantasy land is where you live apparently…

          • burqa June 6th, 2015 at 2:10 pm

You know what they oughtta have at the gun show?
They oughta have a great big fat slick drag racing tire – one that is smooth with no tread – suspended about 3 or 4 feet high with some sort of system to feed bright day-glo yellow paint on it and have all the poo-says who give up their rights to self defense in so many places walk under it and get themselves a nice, bright yellow stripe down their back!

            BAWWK BOK-BOK BAAAAWWWWWK!

          • WolverinedeMexicano June 6th, 2015 at 2:30 pm

nurse ratchet….medication time for this one..he’s done..

I won’t book a flight that goes through Atlanta anymore

    • Larry Schmitt June 5th, 2015 at 6:44 pm

I guess you don’t fly Delta then.

      • burqa June 5th, 2015 at 7:36 pm

I haven’t flown Delta in years, but that was due to where I was going more than anything else.
I took a flight of theirs to Paris a few times that was fabulous. They were partnered with Air France so the food and wine was superb. One time I got bumped up into Royal Ambassador First Class where there was so much legroom, even a long-legged guy like me could stretch out and not touch the seat in front of me. Before I even sat down I was met by a charming stewardess with a tray of caviar on crackers and some nice champers. It was open bar for the entire 8 or 9-hour flight. After a very good meal and my third or fourth glass of champagne I announced to the rest of the cabin that this was now “The Party Section of the plane. I got a few sets of eyes roll skyward but pretty soon we were all having a very good time, living it up getting bombed.
I also have a personal reason for liking Delta. Several years, mebbe a decade ago (I forget), they were in trouble as a company. At the same time I came into a considerable amount of money I considered “found cash” and decided, what the hell, to dally in the stock market and bought Delta at about $5.00 a share.
It was my mother’s idea and was quite surprising, because she never dabbles in the market, so this just came out of the blue. She had that twinkle in her eye and I learned long ago that no matter how wacky it may seem, to go along with her at such times.
        It’s now about $50.00.

        • Larry Schmitt June 5th, 2015 at 7:54 pm

The reason I said that is that virtually every domestic flight of theirs goes through Atlanta. But you probably knew that.

          • burqa June 5th, 2015 at 8:29 pm

I believe they’re headquartered there. I had to go there to catch my flights to Paris.
I used to take a Northwest Flight through there and caught a connecting flight to Memphis. It was a pain in the ass because one only had about 15 minutes to get to the other end of the airport.

      • pinballsdoll June 6th, 2015 at 9:08 am

no, I usually fly allegiant anyway lol….but I will drive my butt from FL to NY if need be

    • fahvel June 6th, 2015 at 3:02 am
