Rick Santorum criticized Pope Francis for highlighting climate change, complaining that he’s not a scientist. Chris Wallace reminded Santorum that neither is he.

Wallace noted that the pope actually had scientific training — while Santorum had none.

“If he’s not a scientist — and in fact, he does have a degree in chemistry — neither are you?” Wallace said. “The second point is that somewhere between 80 and 90 percent of the scientists that have studied this say that humans, human activity contributes to climate change.”

“So, I guess the question would be if he shouldn’t talk about it, should you?” the Fox News host added.

“Well, we have to make public policy with regard to the environmental policy,” Santorum insisted.

“But you’re not a scientist,” Wallace interrupted. “You said leave science to the scientists.”

“Politicians, whether we like it or not, people in government have to make decisions with respect to our policy that affect American workers,” Santorum remarked.

“The second point is that (97% of climate) scientists that have studied this say that humans, human activity contributes to climate change.”-Wallace on NASA, NOAA, UK MET, et al proving 38+ years of consecutive Global Warming +1.4 F above the 1880 to 2014 Global temperature average is ‘80% caused by human burning fossil fuels, 20% caused by human deforestation.’ http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/ “How do we know?”-NASA! http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

You know the BS is deep when Santorum cannot even wriggle out of it on FOX.

Santorum says, in order to rationalize his blatant hypocrisy in telling the Pope to shut up

“”“Politicians, whether we like it or not, people in government have to make decisions with respect to our policy that affect American workers,”””

Seems to me then that when making policy, politicians and people in government, WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT should abide by the consensus view of over 80% of the experts in the field who are scientists.

Good points! We need to remember that when the GOP/TPers in Congress were tying to write a bill to restrict women’s choices of contraception a few years ago, they invited only males to testify.

No, they would rather listen to some idiot committee chairman who brings a snowball into a hearing to “prove” that there’s no climate change.

        • Hirightnow June 7th, 2015 at 4:42 pm

I like the idea of wrapping them tightly in plastic and tossing them in a landfill. But hey; different strokes!

        • Larry Schmitt June 8th, 2015 at 4:35 am

I guess since they change their minds at least twice a day, that will have to do.

    • EnuffBull June 8th, 2015 at 8:56 am

      “politicians and diapers
      you know the rest”

One is full of @#$% and takes up years of space in a landfill before a 100 year half-life, and the other is put on babies bottoms!

This from the man who says that we should not be allowed to sue doctors for malpractice after Santorum did it himself.

    • GuyBertram June 9th, 2015 at 2:24 am

Well yes but Santorum, eww, has an MBA, also an Assclown.

  5. labman57 June 7th, 2015 at 5:12 pm

So Santorum believes that discussions of scientific matters should be left to the scientists … unless the scientific evidence conflicts with the political agenda of the Republican Party … in which case anyone who discusses said scientific evidence should be ridiculed and denounced …. and the science itself should be ignored when establishing relevant public policy.

    Did I miss anything?

    • whatthe46 June 7th, 2015 at 5:23 pm

      “Did I miss anything?” nope!

    • GuyBertram June 9th, 2015 at 2:23 am

That pretty much “froths” it up!

  6. StoneyCurtisll June 7th, 2015 at 5:27 pm

Anyone want to wager that frothy Santorum doesn’t make it to the final Fox 10 debate?

  7. craig7120 June 7th, 2015 at 10:06 pm

You know Mr Santorum wanted to cover his mic and whisper, pssst, this is fox, right? you’re supposed to agree with everything I say.

  8. crc3 June 7th, 2015 at 10:21 pm

Move on…nothing to hear or see here….

  9. CandideThirtythree June 8th, 2015 at 12:48 am

Santorum is NOT in government and he never will be again. so he should STFU!

  10. Warman1138 June 8th, 2015 at 6:26 am

The last time he ran for an office more than 200 dollars were spent for every vote that he garnered…….and it didn’t work then and doesn’t work now. Ignorance has always been a poor investment.

  11. pinballsdoll June 8th, 2015 at 10:50 am

what cracks me up is he is saying “to leave it to the scientists”. But the scientists are saying that global warming is predominately man made, but they don’t believe them
