UPDATE: Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have pulled out of a high-profile homeschooling conference

… which would seem understandable given that the “19 Kids & Counting” stars are currently under intense scrutiny for their handling of sexual molestation in their family. But, despite ongoing controversy, the Duggars still planned to speak at the Rocky Mountain Super Conference on the Family — until reports surfaced that the family is once again under investigation by Arkansas officials.

Within hours of an In Touch magazine report indicating that Jim Bob and Michelle failed to cooperate last month with Arkansas Department of Health and Safety officials — who reportedly made a 9-1-1 call after the Duggars refused to let them evaluate a child — the pair withdrew from the homeschooling conference, which is put on by the Christian Home Educators of Colorado. According to Homeschoolers Anonymous, the group was founded by Kevin Lundberg — the now-Colorado legislator who recently worried that an IUD might prevent “a small child from implanting” inside a woman’s uterus — and later run by conservative radio host Kevin Swanson, who is convinced Girl Scout cookies are going to turn everyone gay (or something).

CHEC announced on Wednesday that the Duggars would still attend the conference as special guests, but indicated that the ongoing sexual abuse controversy would be off-limits

The Arkansas Department of Human Services launched a new investigation of the Duggars just two weeks ago.

The Duggars have appeared on TV recently in order to givetheir side of the story, but they never mentioned the investigation, or the allegations released on Wednesday that they previously refused to cooperate.

In Touch Weekly referenced a FOIA request that turned up the transcript of a 911 call on May 27, indicating that a DHS officer requested police assistance when Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar would not allow him to see one of their children. “We have an investigation and I guess they’re not being cooperative,” the caller allegedly said to dispatch. “We have to see the child to make sure the child is all right. So we just need police assistance.” The report did not specifically mention which child the DHS agent wanted to see, or why.

InTouch has the full details:

A representative from the Washington County DHS called 911 on May 27 at around 11 a.m. asking for police assistance when DHS was not allowed to see the minor they were concerned about. In Touch, which broke the story of Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal, has the full transcript of the emergency call in the new issue.

The new investigation comes as the family tries to save its TLC reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, which the network pulled off the air, while determining its fate. Jim Bob,Michelle and two of their daughters sat for interviews with Fox News, attempting to minimize the damage, but much of what they said was widely condemned as misinformation and not full disclosure.

The Duggars made no mention of the fact that they have been under investigation again, but In Touch discovered what they are hiding via another Freedom of Information Act request that produced the 911 call.

After identifying himself as a Washington Country DHS employee and stating the Duggar family address, the caller tells the 911 operator, “We have an investigation and I guess they’re not being cooperative. We have to see the child to make sure the child is all right. So we just need police assistance.”

DHS records are not available to the public so it is unknown what prompted the investigation. Experts tell In Touch that an investigation can be triggered by a hotline complaint, even an anonymous one, if the trained operator determines the allegation is serious enough that it meets standards for child abuse maltreatment laws.

I hope this investigation ends up with arrests for the parents for obstruction and lying.

It’s a well documented grooming technique.

It certainly is, I am relieved that all this is coming out with them and the rest of the faux family values crowd. All their bellowing about their moral superiority and their hate speech is coming back to bite them and hard. No amount of fox slop defense will change the facts.

“Holier than thou.” is always deluded by “Holier than thou.” A lot of christians seem to be good at it, though not all who are willing to embrace others.

Duggared response: ‘But Child molesting and incest are taught in our Bible home school. How can that be illegitimate? We grift $10,000+ per kid, per year from taxpayers to home screw these kids.’

There’s an easy fix, for this. Go to a judge and get a court order, for the family to produce the child for interview. Until you have a judge’s order, you can’t FORCE a parent to produce their child for any kind of exam or interview.
