Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker claims British Prime Minister David Cameron told him that he is concerned about the direction of American leadership. The problem: Cameron denies he ever said such a thing.

Walker, who has taken several trips overseas in recent months to study up on foreign policy in preparation for an all-but-certain presidential bid, told a roomful of Republican donors Friday that world leaders, including Cameron, are worried about the U.S. stepping back in the world. “The Prime Minister did not say that and does not think that,” a Downing Street spokesperson told TIME.

“I heard that from David Cameron back in February earlier when we were over at 10 Downing,” Walker said. “I heard it from other leaders around the world. They’re looking around realizing this lead from behind mentality just doesn’t work. It’s just not working.”

…Walker and Cameron met Feb. 10 while Walker was traveling on a trade mission for his state. The trip was overshadowed in the U.S. by news coverage of Walker dodging a question on evolution.

Walker’s political office deferred comment to his official office, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It appears, in spite of what he may or may not believe, that his campaign is evolving into irrelevancy.

I hope you’re right… most of the other occupants of the GOTP Klown Posse are publicly nutso enough that they shouldn’t have a chance, but Walker (armed with Koch-bucks) gives me the heeby-jeebies!

Unfortunately, one of them has to “win.”

Yeah, that’s a real shocker, isn’t it? Who would expect a politician to lie?

  4. Antigone June 13th, 2015 at 12:00 pm

Hmmm…..does it make sense to any reasonable person that the Prime Minister would ‘diss’ Pres Obama when the PM was up for a tough re-election and needed the President’s support.
    I think not.

Everything he has ever said was a lie so why is anyone surprised. The fact that republicans jaunt around the world making enemies of our allies should be proof enough that they are trying to bring down this country and get us into WWIII.

Republicans kill millions of Americans every year with their medieval polices but the blood of millions will never be enough to quench their blood lust.

I think we’ve just been given a glimpse of how small, mean, and insular Walker’s worldview actually is– he literally believes there’s no way what he said could ever get back to Downing Street because, hey, it’s not even in the same country as he is.
