Ignorance is still prevalent in American legislatures.

State representative Gary Glenn (R-Midland) says school officials who normalize homosexuality in the classroom should be held liable for STDs any of their students happen to contract.

“When young people rely on what they hear at school,” Glenn says in a 2013 video Right Wing Watch unearthed this week, they “put themselves at severe medical risk by engaging in homosexual behavior. Whether it’s HIV/AIDS or cancer or hepatitis or STDs or, according to one medical journal, premature death by 20 years. If some young person hears at school it’s okay to be gay and then comes down with a fatal disease as a result, school officials should be held legally liable, individually and in their official capacities, financially, and maybe even criminally.”

The video is from a documentary 30-minute documentary called, “Light Wins: How To Overcome The Criminalization Of Christianity.”

So if a kid hears in school that it is perfectly ok to have dozens of guns in the home and completely appropriate for people under 18 years of age to shoot, then is the school also responsible when the child kills or injures himself or someone else with a firearm?

    Just askin…

Setting aside the absurd premise that children “decide to become gay” after learning about it in school, if a youngster is encouraged while in grade school to become a firefighter or police officer when he or she grows up, and 20 years later he or she suffers a career-ending injury while on the job … would any rationally-thinking legislator worry that the school might be sued by the injured public servant?

Who do we hold responsible for all the hetero kids who get std’s, aids, cancer? or any other deadly disease?

  7. wpadon June 20th, 2015 at 3:33 pm

Can we hold relatives that give an automatic weapon to their kid as a birthday gift responsible for any mass killings they commit?

If Mr. Glenn is referring to the International Journal of Epidemiology to support his claim of homosexuals dying 20 years earlier, they spoke out about that a long time ago. They’re basic stance is this: stop using our research to bolster your homophobic paranoia.
As for Glenn himself, this is the douchebag that tweeted an “Agenda Alert” when the Midland, MI newspaper hired a gay man as their editor.
I’d also like to know if the school Mr. Glenn attended encourage him to run for office. If so, then I’d like to hold them accountable for him being an ignorant, homophobic asshole.

If Glenn were to have an intelligent thought, it would be an accident.
