Only it’s not just “one event.”

“Yes, we have a Second Amendment,” King explained. “And even if some of this violence could be stopped by confiscating all the guns, we have a charge, our charge is to defend freedom and liberty. We are the bastion of western civilization, and that requires us to be able to defend ourselves against tyranny.”

King continued, “That’s the charge that our founding fathers gave us, that’s in our culture, we know that, we’ve had to do that worldwide. So, it’s a much higher calling than believing that somehow we end one event of violence.”

So King is arguing that yokels in Iowa need guns to protect our “bastion” in case Belize or maybe Liechtenstein mounts Operation America Freedom and invades us with their massive armies?

  6. Warman1138 June 22nd, 2015 at 10:53 pm

    King can’t count.

  7. liberalMD June 22nd, 2015 at 11:01 pm

I would not restrict gun access for only one death. But how many would it take to convince you, Steve? One hundred? One thousand?

How about over one hundred fifty thousand? And that’s just in the last five years and is undoubtedly an underestimate. That’s 5% of the population of Iowa. Still not convinced?

“We are the bastion of western civilization” should be changed to “We are the bastards of western civilization”

“…our charge is to defend freedom and liberty.”
    from who?
    from President Obama?
    from Democrats?
    from sane people?
You, sir, the NRA, Republican and Democrat gun-nuts are bloody INSANE!

    “…end one event of violence.”
    What?
30,000+ gun deaths every year are monumentally beyond one event, A$$HOLE!
