Democratic New York Senator Chuck Schumer says the United States should go back and get a better deal with Iran. Schumer sounds like he’s unaware that this deal involves the entire UN Security Council, Germany and the European Union. Let him call them all up and tell them the deal is no good.

“I believe we should go back and try to get a better deal,” he said. “The nations of the world should join us in that.”

Schumer also detailed how he came to his controversial position against the long-negotiated nuclear deal.

“If you believe the Iranian regime may change, then you say OK, it’s a gamble,” he said.

“But if you think they’re going to be the same horrible regime they are now, you don’t want the United States and the other nations of the world putting the stamp of approval on Iran being a threshold nuclear state.”

Secretary of State John Kerry rejected Schumer’s call for a renegotiation on Aug. 10.

“It’s absurd to say we’ll get a better deal,” he said, adding that Iran “won’t come back” to the table to negotiate.
