Suspect ID’d In Reporter-Photographer Shooting

UPDATE: CNN is reporting that Vester Lee Flanagan II, the suspected killer of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, has shot himself after encountering law enforcement officials, who had identified him as the suspect late Wednesday morning. Flanagan appeared as a newsman under the stage name Bryce Williams.
Reporter Alison Parker and photographer Adam Ward, were shot and killed during a live report for WDBJ7 in Roanoke, VA.
Authorities from Bedford County, Franklin County and Virginia State Police have responded.
“We do not know the motive. We do not know who the killer is,” WDBJ General Manager Jeffrey Marks said. “We do know the Franklin County sheriff … they are working very diligently to track down both the motive and the person responsible for this terrible crime against two fine journalists,” he said during the station’s coverage of the shooting.
CNN reports that a suspect and his vehicle license plate have been identified.
